Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2020

Mother’s Day, my mum’s birthday and Christmas Day are definitely my mum’s favourite days of the years. Marie is a pampered pooch, she loves nothing more than a spa day that I’ve paid for, or covering herself in products. We all know Marie loves everything luxurious and pampering, which is why she wanted to curate another Mother’s Day Gift Guide. That’s right, Marie has hand-selected every single product in this guide! So let’s get started with these Mother’s Day Gift Ideas.

Mother's Day Gift Guide 2020

MAX PRIME 32mm Revolving Styler – £89.99
Marie’s face lit up when she saw this two in one device. Marie loves big bouncy hair but her hair is quite the opposite. This is a revolving styler that has combined a round brush with a blow dryer to product voluminous shiny hair. Isn’t that what we all want? It’s great on all types of hair, even Marie’s short hair and adds all the volume whilst smoothing her longer points at the front.

The Hair Boss 4 Step Routine
Keeping with hair products we have the new range from The Hair Boss. This is a completely customisable range and these products have been specially chosen for Marie’s finer hair. It starts off with The Scalp Scrub, something that a lot of people don’t realise they need in their life. Give your head a deep clean right from the scalp and that helps the hair to grow faster, and sit better on a cleaner scalp. The Overworked Shampoo is for colour treated hair, The Body Building Foam Conditioner is to condition without weighing the hair down, such a great idea!

Finally, The Semi-Permanent Shine Spray is a heat-activated spray that adds instant shine and a glossy look to your hair. The range is between £7.99 to £14.99 and is available at Superdrug.

Wicked Gummy Co – £19.99 each
Struggling to maintain your hair or need a boost with growing it? Try these from Wicked Gummy Co. Marie wanted to try the Hair, Skin and Nails Gummy and Iron Gummy. They’re meant to help give you shiny hair, glowing skin and strong nails. The Iron Gummy helps with energy levels and fatigue so naturally, Marie was super interested in this. Normally vitamins and supplements don’t have the nicest aftertastes to them, but these are fruit flavoured and much more pleasant.

It’s always recommended to check with your doctor but if you are chronically ill like we are, then they also have Vitamin D gummies too (we take a spray version), so that’s definitely worth looking at.

Moving onto skin, Marie loves skincare products. She actually has a better collection than me! This is why she picked quite a few skincare things for this Mother’s Day Gift Guide and I can vouch for a couple of these brands too as some of my favourites.

Firstly, Jane Scriver is one of the most beautiful skincare brands I’ve ever tried. Marie has been using the Jane Scrivner Ultimate Replenish Facial Oil (£33.00). This range smells like something you would get in a spa, it’s absolutely beautiful and such a stunning product. Another spa-worthy product is the France Prescott TRIBALM (£46.00) it can clean, exfoliate and moisturise, it does it all and it smells so utterly amazing.

I have had this product before and it’s a pure dream and absolute pleasure to use. Finishing off this little ultra pampering trio is one of my mum and my favourite brands, Time Bomb. We are such huge fans of Time Bomb! This is the Time Bomb Flashback Night Cream (£37.00) and it’s super luxurious. This leaves a light waxy barrier layer on your skin to trap in all the good stuff. It really has noticeable differences within a few uses and is just a delight to use.

African Extracts Rooibos ADVANTAGE  3-Step Anti-Ageing STARTER Kit – £10.99

We love a new UK launch which is why mum wanted to feature this range as it’s one of South Africa’s leading skincare ranges! It contains a plant only found growing on mountains in Western Cape, South Africa, Rooibos. It’s anti-oxidant and has a lot of other natural ingredients in their products too. Plus, what a great price?

PAYOT Skincare Set – £50

PAYOT is a french skincare brand and they have some beautiful products. This is The Hydrating & Smoothing Kit and it makes a perfect Mother’s Day gift. It contains 3 products and saves a lot compared to buying them separately. There’s the Plumping Priming Infusion, Super Comforting Hydrating Mask and Chrono-Smoothing Cream. If you’re buying for someone who loves skincare then you definitely should look at this brand.

Dr Lipp Lip Balm – £12 for 15ml
My mum has recently been complaining about dry lips so this was really perfect timing. Dr Lipp is known as the lip expert for their original nipple balm. That’s right, this was designed for nipples! It works amazingly on any sore, dry skin, dry lips, flyaway hairs, and hundreds of other uses. Now it comes not only as an individual, but tint versions in gift sets and travel sizes too!

SheaMoisture Bath, Body & Massage Oil – £11.99
I’m a huge fan and I didn’t even know Shea Moisture had body products! With lots of options to choose from too. You can pour them into a hot bath or simply just add to your skin for a pampering experience. Marie absolutely loves body oils and these smell so good too!

Speaking of smelling nice, Marie picked out the Givenchy Ange ou Démon available from Scentsational (£38.00) and it smells so beautiful. It has notes of vanilla, tonka bean and ylang-ylang. It was first launched in 2016 but remains a popular fragrance! Plus, how gorgeous is this bottle?

Ted Baker had a serious makeover and I bought so much of their Christmas Range this year. The new packaging looks so elegant and beautiful and the Est. ‘88 100ml perfume at £50 is no exception.  You can definitely tell it’s a Ted Baker scent, especially if you’ve been using the brand for as long as we have.

Prezzybox is one of my favourite places to shop ever, especially for a Mother’s Day Gift Guide. For other people and for myself. I’ve bought Marie quite a lot from Prezzybox and she absolutely loves their incredible range. This time she picked out relaxing, pampering products. This Rose Gold Jewellery Box at £32.99 is exactly what mum has been needing to keep her things in one place. She absolutely loves it and it looks great on her dressing table.

Like a lot of things at Prezzybox, it can be personalised so just in case I ever tried to steal it, Marie had ‘Marie’s jewellery box’ put on it. Clever. Marie also picked out this personalised scented diffuser at £34.99. We absolutely love diffuser and have both sticks and plugged in versions all around the house. I love that you can personalise this to make it a special gift and it came so beautifully packaged. Finally, mum picked out these Cozy Microwaveable Boots at £19.99, unfortunately they’re on the mega small side so our feet don’t fit, but it’s a lovely idea for anyone with petite feet!

Zippo Heatbank – £39.99

Something super-practical is this Zippo Heatbank that can also charge your phone. Marie pointed out how many mum’s this would be great for no matter what they do on a day-to-day. It has a 9-hour runtime and 6 heat settings. It’s so great because there’s no waste like those disposable hand warmers, with this, you simply just recharge and it’s good to go again.

We’re ending this Mother’s Day gift guide with food gifts. You can never go wrong with adding some of their favourite chocolates or some luxury food gifts to your present. We picked out a range including Guylian, Belgium chocolates. Squirrel Sisters for those healthy mums out there, these are gluten-free, plant-based and no added sugar.

The final product is definitely something that you all need to try out. Naturally, as I am writing the post, I felt it was completely necessary to try these out myself and oh my god, I am obsessed. Joe & Seph’s Gourmet Popcorn is unreal. The Chocolate Lover’s selection box was definitely my favourite and Marie’s (I let her try some, I’m so kind) but they also do Cameral Sauces Prosecco and Gin & Tonic Flavoured.
