Superdrug Beauty Studio Meadowhall

Superdrug already offered great beauty services in-store at Meadowhall, but when I heard about their Beauty Studio opening, I just couldn’t wait! Although I couldn’t make the opening, I finally managed to get out and try out their services for myself and it’s safe to say that I’m a huge fan, and I’m already planning to go back. The Superdrug Beauty Studio Meadowhall is open for the same hours as Meadowhall, meaning you can get all these amazing beauty treatments, any day of the week! If you work late, no problem, it’s open late! Is Sunday your only day off? They’re open Sundays! This really is an amazing addition to a shopping centre that already has so much under one roof. The treatments range from cuts and colours, to piercings, waxing, lashes, and even a barbers section! You don’t have to book at all and you can just walk in and have any treatment, or multiple treatments done there and then. I love the convenience of this! I had a wash and blow dry for my treatment and it’s seriously the best curly blow dry I’ve ever had. Most of the staff came over to look at it, and when we finished shopping (with it being in-store it means you can go about your shopping too!) even the staff at the tills were so impressed with it!

The Before

Alfie didn’t take many shots from around the Beauty Studio but I must say, it’s so beautiful! It looks like a very fancy salon. It’s extremely well kept, sparkly, and has everything you need. Plus I found the chairs to be really comfortable too, which with my chronic pain is a big plus. Maria was my Stylist and she immediately moved the hairdressing chair out of the way when she saw my wheelchair, I loved this as more often than not you get the awkward look about if you’re going to walk out of it or not, and obviously, some people can’t. That’s another thing I love about the Superdrug Beauty Studio Meadowhall, it’s all completely flat, plenty of space, and so accessible. I can’t even get in my usual nail places now because of daft steps and my wheelchair shockingly does not have a ‘stair’ mode! Maria was so friendly and accommodating from the beginning to the end. Not only was she actually hilarious to talk to, but clearly she is a very gifted hairdresser, just LOOK AT MY BEAUTIFUL HAIR!

The After

Maria’s curly blow dry technique isn’t one that I’ve seen before but honestly, it’s incredible. After a seriously thorough and relaxing shampoo and condition, we moved back to the mirror where she began by adding product to my hair. Maria used the brush technique to make my curls stronger and it worked so well. After my entire head was full of strong, defined curls, Maria blasted it back with the hairdryer, creating so much volume! I’ve never seen my hair this big! I will definitely be going back to the Beauty Studio, and I’ll be asking for Maria!
