Spring with Karen Millen Plus Size
Earlier this month I came across a new roundup of UK plus size bloggers and, honestly, I was so excited to see my name right at the top! But that excitement quickly turned bittersweet. So many of the blogs I used to love have vanished, some haven’t been updated in years, others are gone completely. I’ll admit, I don’t read as many blogs as I used to (guilty!) but in my defence… there aren’t many left to read!
One of my goals this year was to get back into blogging properly and I’m actually sticking to it. So, here I am again with another plus size fashion post, which will be my third this year on Karen Millen’s plus size range! Karen Millen is not a brand I ever thought I’d be wearing to be honest but I’m so glad that I’ve been able to try them out. I have definitely found some pieces that I’m going to love for years to come, make sure you see the sheer trench from my last post!
First up, let’s talk about this gorgeous Plus Size Floral Embroidered Cotton Linen Woven Prom Dress, it’s an eye-watering price at around £300 (various sales and discounts) but the quality is definitely there. The embroidery on this dress is simply stunning and despite the price, often I think pricier dresses are heavier, this is cotton linen so it’s extremely light-weight and breathable. Actually perfect for summer or all year around. We all know I love a winter maxi too and I could easily pair this with a chunky cardigan.
Not all of Karen Millen’s pieces are this expensive, I’ve seen lots of beautiful pieces for under £100, so don’t write them off before having a good look! Plus like I said, there’s lots of sales and discounts, so they’re definitely worth looking at more often. Especially if you have a fancy occasion like a wedding, event, or awards ceremony, then Karen Millen is definitely the place to go. With next day delivery, it couldn’t be easier to shop with them!
Next up is this gorgeous Plus Size Ombre Floral Silk Cotton Plunge Maxi Dress at just under £200. This is so beautifully made with a very figure fitting waist to ensure a strong silhouette, it’s like a moulded waist band but it’s extremely comfortable, even when sitting! These are both really easy dresses to wear and really glamorous too!
I find that in most brands I am a solid size 20 now which means Karen Millen plus range does come up a little small and I usually wear a 22 in their dresses, but I stick to a 20 in jackets and coats. That means that with their limited size range stopping at a size 24, I doubt anyone over a size 22 will be able to fit. I’ve mentioned it in every post now but I really do hope they extend their sizing ranges. I constantly see the sizes 22 and 24 selling out the fastest which is a sign that they’re popular with plus size people!
I thought bought of these dresses would work in a local nature reserve just 5 minutes away from our home, how lucky is that? You’ll definitely be seeing more photos of me wondering around in here! As always I love to show dresses both stood up and sat down in my wheelchair, in true ambulatory wheelchair style! Not all dresses work in my chair sat down and driving, but depending on your wheel placement, or if you can hold the dress up, they might work for you!
