AD – Specsavers Post Lockdown
This post is a collaboration with Specsavers.

Just before the Lockdown started, mum and I headed to Specsavers for her first eye test in over 4 years. It’s something that she put off for a long period of time but was really surprised at just how easy the Specsavers experience was and how helpful and attentive all the staff were. It was a scary time to be going out as we knew about the virus, but Specsavers even then had safety precautions in store and lots of hand sanitizer to use at several different stations. As you can imagine, they have even more safety procedures in-store now, making sure that everyone stays safe and gets the expert help that they need.
As my mum didn’t have an up to date eye prescription she did need to have an eye test. She was really impressed with just how attentive, quick, and sanitary the test was with being wiped down before and after use. If you already have an up to date prescription then you could actually shop online with the incredible Specsavers Frame Styler. We were able to try this in store and were really impressed by the technology that is available from your phone and laptop.
You simply look at the camera screen and then tilt your head slowly to both sides. Then you can virtually try on different styles and colours of glasses and see what they look like from every angle. It can suggest styles that you like and that would suit you best based on your face analysis.

This is an extremely convenient and useful technology for right now when going into a store and trying on glasses isn’t something that everyone can do. My mum actually ended up picking similar styles to the ones she saw on the Specsavers Frame Styler! This way you can screenshot and ask your friends and family for opinions and save photos to compare when you have found more that you like. It’s a great way to compare styles and try something new and daring from the comfort of your own house. We had her try out some bright, bold, and different styles but as you can tell by outfit, she’s a bit of a leopard print fan.
We were really stuck between a pair of Marc Jacobs and Kylie Minogue but the Minogue pair were rounded and really opened up mum’s eyes more. When it came to sunglasses we were blown away by the designer choices and could have easily come away with 6 new pairs each! Specsavers have such an incredibly trendy and stylish selection of glasses and designer picks, there is definitely something for everyone. Mum ended up with Viktor and Rolf sunglasses and they are absolutely incredible. Both styles ended up leopard print, which is no surprise! Of course, I tried them on myself too. I couldn’t resist.

Even though we had such a great experience in-store at Specsavers and there are many safety procedures in branches now, if you do need to go, picking out glasses and trying them on can be easily achieved from your home and we would highly recommend trying out the Specsavers Frame Styler for yourself, it’s a lot of fun!
