Schwarzkopf Color Expert
Schwarzkopf Color Expert – A Budget Shampoo For Red Hair
Finding a shampoo that actually works on coloured red hair is a nightmare, but finding a shampoo that works on red semi-permanent dyes? Nearly impossible. I use Crazy Color Vermillion Red and it’s the most beautiful red I have ever used, but it is a lot of hard work. My neck is constantly stained red, my bathroom is pink, even my straighteners are stained.
I have only found one shampoo that truly keeps the colour in and that’s Colorwow, unfortunately, I need to use quite a lot to get my hair truly clean and it ends up costing a fortune and I can’t keep up with the costs, which is why I need to tell you about Schwarzkopf Color Expert Range. I have bought about 12 bottles of this shampoo since I was first gifted it and I will continue to buy it for as long as I can!
I’ll be straight up, it’s not as good as Colorwow, but it’s definitely up there. I actually prefer to use this mixed with Colorwow or Joico K-Pak Color Therapy Shampoo (I get mine from AllBeauty for £24.65 for 1000ml and it lasts me nearly a year). I’ve also just picked up nearly a litre bottle of Colorwow for £55 when usually it’s £19.50 for 250ml. I find that my hair lasts such a long time when I combine it with a more expensive colour protect shampoo, but on its own, it’s pretty great too!
The Schwarzkopf Color Expert Shampoo at £3.99 a bottle, is definitely my favourite of the range but I do use the conditioner too. This range was designed to be used with their box dyes and I can imagine they’d go together so well, but it does say that it should work with other brands.
What’s so special about the Schwarzkopf Color Expert range? Well, it’s not just for colour protection. It uses Omega Plex® anti-breakage technology to strengthen and protect your hair too. It helps by repairing micro-bonds which protects against future damage too. This also helps to lock in the colour and leave your hair incredibly shiny and soft. The Schwarzkopf Color Expert Colour Sealer Conditioner (£3.99) is so light and great for detangling too!
The final step of the Schwarzkopf Color Expert range is the Colour Sealer Treatment, again at just £3.99. I used the first bottle of this but it isn’t something that I’ve rebought as I don’t do many hair treatments, I find that the longer my hair is wet (whether it be from water or products) the more my hair colour lifts. Which is to be expected with semi-permanent but I would definitely recommend trying this if you use permanent dyes.
As I said, it’s not the best red hair colour friendly range I’ve tried, and I’ve tried a lot, but it’s definitely the best budget-friendly one. It doesn’t overly foam so you know it’s not stripping your hair and the conditioner doesn’t give that overly soft silicone coated feeling. It’s easy enough to find and pick up, plus it’s often on sale too!
