Puppy Love Events Sheffield – Cuddle with Puppies!

Recently I had the absolute pleasure of attending a puppy cuddling event, with Puppy Love Events and let me tell you, it was as amazing as it sounds! In fact, it was better than I imagined. Surrounded by adorable, wriggling Staffy puppies, it was impossible not to fall in love.

Two little stars, Pepper and Bruce, stole my heart (and maybe a little piece of my shoe). The event wasn’t just a hit for me, though, my friend, brother, and sister-in-law joined in, and we all had the best time. At one point, my sister-in-law found herself double-teamed with two puppies on her lap, and honestly, she’s never looked happier!

The puppies were in full play mode, and yes, they were thoroughly testing their teeth. I can confirm that their teeth are coming in sharp and strong, judging by the number of nibbles I got! Despite the little love bites, every moment was worth it. How could it not be when surrounded by that much cuteness?

The Venue: Leah’s Yard, Sheffield

This particular event was held at Leah’s Yard in Sheffield, a hidden gem I never knew existed despite living in the city since a toddler. It’s a modern, stylish space with a big, sleek lift that makes it easily accessible. Honestly, I was impressed with the venue as much as the event itself.

Where are the events held?

Birmingham, Sheffield, Nottingham, Leicester, Derby, Cheshire and Leeds. See their website for upcoming events and their partners within that city.

Accessibility and Adjustments

One thing I truly appreciated was how inclusive the event was. I asked about accessibility for people in wheelchairs, and the organisers explained that they’d let the puppies play and tire themselves out a bit first. Once they’re calmer and sleepier, they’re gently placed on participants’ laps. For those who can’t sit on the floor, similar adjustments are made. It’s clear that a lot of thought goes into making the experience enjoyable for everyone. Even down to the venues that the pick.Puppy Love Events Sheffield, shemightbeloved

Cleanliness and Comfort

Any worries about mess were quickly put to rest. The venue was spotless, with any little “accidents” cleaned up immediately. Shoes are removed (if you can) at the entrance, and the space is kept extremely clean. You can tell these people are really dog experts (one lovely woman was a dog trainer!) as they could tell when any of the puppies were about to wee or poop, and they’d be ready and waiting!

Why These Events Are So Special

These events are about so much more than just cuddling puppies (though that’s obviously a huge highlight!). The experts at Pooch Therapy Events (a mix of older dogs) and Puppy Love Events have created experiences that benefit both the puppies and the participants. The puppies get vital socialisation, learning how to interact with different people and environments, setting them up to be confident adult dogs. Meanwhile, participants get a serotonin and dopamine boost, leaving the event calmer and happier. It’s a win-win situation and a bloody brilliant idea!

How It All Works

The puppies from Puppy Love Events come from ethical, licensed breeders who work closely with the organisers to ensure the pups’ socialisation needs are met. Typically, the events start when the puppies are around eight weeks old and are carefully planned to prioritise their wellbeing. The breed of the puppies changes from event to event, and details are announced a few weeks beforehand.

The puppies only do a maximum of two sessions a day with a break inbetween, it’s all organised to make sure the puppies are happy and well looked after and you can really tell that.

Mental Health Benefits

It’s no secret that spending time with animals can improve mental wellbeing, and this event was no exception. I left feeling lighter, happier, and more relaxed, despite the playful battle scars from my new furry friends. Another woman at the event actually said it’s the happiest she’s been in a while and that really stuck with me. Events like Puppy Love Events are such an amazing thing to experience.

Would I Go Again?

In a heartbeat! The care and consideration put into every aspect of the Puppy Love Events were evident, and it’s an experience I’d recommend to anyone. Whether you’re a lifelong dog lover or just looking for a unique way to destress, a puppy cuddling event is an unforgettable treat. As a cat mum of 3 I surprised a lot of people by going, but baby animals are baby animals!

I honestly cannot wait for the next Sheffield based one and already more family members are wanting to come!
