Plus Size Wedding Guest Dress Inspiration
Shopping for my brother’s wedding was a big task, I always knew it would be so I had a plan. With the current state of the UK plus size fashion world, I knew it wasn’t going to be an easy thing. There would be no simply just ordering a plus size wedding guest dress a few weeks beforehand, just like brides cannot just order any old dress off the peg – they have to look long and hard for the perfect warm-weather bridal styles for spring and summer or the ideal vintage dress to match their 50s themed wedding. This would take a strategic plan. So I started picking up bargains on Vinted months beforehand, possibly 6+ months before. I ordered different brands, different styles, different sizes. I was also shopping for my mum, the Mother of the Groom, expectations were high and the pressure was on.
We both had different things we wanted from our plus size wedding guest dress and nothing was ticking all of our boxes for a long time. We got close a couple of times and so I thought I’d put this post together of all the dresses I tried out, nearly wore, or just like the look of, for some plus size wedding guest dress inspiration. Of course, my style is very over the top, there’s not a casual bone in my body but if you can’t be glamorous at a black tie wedding then where can you be?

Maya Deluxe

In my opinion, I really think Maya Deluxe are the absolute Queens of plus size wedding guest attire and of the best evening gowns. If you have a look, you’ll have definitely seen a plus size babe wearing something from them as a guest, or more likely a bridesmaid as they really hit the nail on the head with their designs and sizing range.
I was almost certain that both of our wedding guest dresses would come from Maya Deluxe, I would have actually put money on it. I bought so many different styles and designs from Vinted, different colours, but the right variation that I wanted just didn’t come out in time.

Lovedrobe and Maya Deluxe are the same company just with different styles and Lovedrobe is another one of my favourite places for a fancy glamorous dress.
Not only was Vinted amazing at finding the styles I wanted to try but Maya Deluxe and Lovedrobe are stocked at so many different places, each having different styles, colourways, designs, so it’s so worth doing a deep dive across everywhere that stocks them to find the perfect dress for you.
Ever Pretty

The second dress I was convinced I’d wear was this third green beauty from Ever Pretty that I’ve been looking at for the longest time. Ever Pretty is one of those sites where you can ordered whatever dress in whatever colour and in whatever size too. Perfect for a plus size wedding guest dress! I then saw a friend wearing it and realised it was a little too low cut for a family wedding and I didn’t love any of the other styles. By the time I was panicking to buy something else last minute for my mum, I realised the shipping dates are WEEKS long so bare that in mind!
Flycurvy

A new brand to me but after working with them on a gifted collaboration I ended up finding the exact dress I wore to the wedding! Flycurvy has a great range of really beautiful plus size dresses but they are the likes you’ll see on other similar sites. For example they had a version of the Ever Pretty dress I wanted but with a different neckline and in a different colour. They have a few dresses I’ve seen similar of on Shein and Curvesoul too which I’m not against, usually these sort of brands mean thinner material that you won’t bake in and they don’t come with the heavy price tag of hand sewn on sequins.

The Luxe collection at Yours Clothing definitely offers some exciting designs from time to time and it’s worth keeping an eye on. Some really easy to wear lace and sequin pieces with a great size range.
