Pixi Hydrating Milky Range Review
Being on Pixi’s PR list is like having lots of Christmas Mornings throughout the year, mum and I sit by the door when we get the email about another delivery and we fight to open it first. They really know how to put an incredible press delivery together and the packaging, which is now all cardboard and recyclable, is always so exciting. For example, this came in a milk bottle box! The Pixi Hydrating Milky Range did not immediately wow me, I’ll be honest. I have oily skin and ‘hydrating’ just isn’t something I lean towards. However, after a few months of carrying this skincare regime from my bedroom to my office to make sure I was solidly using it morning and night, I can report that I have never been so wrong.
The Pixi Hydrating Milky range is actually really beautiful. I would go as far as saying that if you are going to buy someone Pixi for a birthday or Christmas and you’re not sure what, I would pick this range. It’s a good all-rounder, it will be fine on anyone’s skin, oily, dry, sensitive. It was a pure joy to use and a surprisingly really generous size with the face and body Hydrating Milky Lotion. I only kept it to my face so this will last a really long time. I loved how soft and just pleasant it made my skin feel. Nothing overly hydrating so I was caked in oils or creams, but just the right level of hydration for soft to the touch skin.
The Pixi Hydrating Milky Cleanser is a great morning cleanser or double cleanse product. This range doesn’t have a strong smell to it at all and is very gentle to use. I’d follow up with the Hydrating Milky Makeup Remover to make sure my skin is fully clean, or if I was wanting a treatment I’d use the Hydrating Milky Peel. I’ve had a Pixi Peel before and I really didn’t get the hype until I saw my blogger friend Laura from Laura Louise Beauty blog say about how beautiful it was and then I gave it a second chance. I used it on my face and neck, moving down to my chest and left it on whilst I got into a hot steamy bath. I used a cloth to wipe it off for some extra exfoliation and just like Laura said, my skin was noticeably softer after one use! I think where I went wrong beforehand was not waiting long enough and just washing it off with water.
Of course, the Pixi Hydrating Milky Range also contains a tonic, Pixi is well known for their tonics, especially their Pixi Glow. The Milky Tonic is just very simple and calming, again it doesn’t have a smell and doesn’t feel irritating on the skin at all. The same goes for the Milky Hydrating Serum, it’s hydrating but without the oil film left behind. I’ve found the serum to be great on top of very sore skin which just shows how lovely and soothing it is. My skin can take the entire regime and not feel suffocated or heavy. It’s a really gentle and beautiful skincare range and as I said, I definitely think it’d make a good present if you’re unsure about the skin type you’re buying for.
