Pieminister Sheffield Review
Pieminister opened up in Sheffield earlier this year and I can’t believe we’ve only just tried them. I can’t say I’ve ever ordered a pie whilst dining out before as I’ve never really been that into them, but my opinion has changed completely now. Situated on the popular Division Street, Pieminister Sheffield is definitely somewhere you need to try. If you’re like me and don’t love the idea of all pies then rest assured, these are not normal pies. These pies are next level. We were seriously blown away by the options, choices in sides, and that you can mix it up too. We all tried some of each other’s as we couldn’t stop saying just how great everything was.
The Pies
My mum ordered the MooDog, a British beef steak, dry cured bacon, and brew dog ale pie. She was in food heaven!
I ordered the Fungi Chicken as I wanted to play it safe, it was so delicious but I do wish I went for something meatier. Finally, Alfie ordered the Deer Stalker with British venison, bacon, red wine, and green lentils. He loved it!
For the sides we decided that the mushy peas and cheese mash are definitely the best. Another thing that really impressed me was the amount of gravy, I have to have my food swimming in gravy and I was finally abled to do this!
Soft Scoop Sundaes
The whole reason for our visit was to try out the new soft scoop sundaes from Pieminister Sheffield. These have been created to complement the delicious pies and are so unusual! There’s 8 flavours that are served in a waffle cone to look like a pie crust. The ice-cream really is SO soft, it’s probably the best dessert I’ve had in a restaurant. The flavours include, Apple Pie, Mud Pie, Honey Bee, Gold Digger, Cherry Pie, ChocWork Orange, Lemon Meringue Pie, and Pork Pie. They all come with super inventive twists that really surprised us. Pieminister really exceeded our expectations and we already can’t wait to go back! We really want to try their Sunday Best which is a pie of your choice with all the Sunday Dinner trimmings, it looks incredible! We were told to make sure we book for whichever Sunday we go as it can get really busy.
