Peeko Beauty Box Review: The £45 Boop Beauty Box Worth £230

I have always been a sucker for a beauty box. At one point I had several subscriptions arriving every month, and there is something ridiculously exciting about opening a box when you don’t quite know what is going to be inside.

They are also one of the best ways to build up a stash of minis for travelling. Honestly, half the fun of going on holiday is finally having an excuse to use the tiny shampoos, serums and moisturisers you have been hoarding for the previous six months.

I also love beauty boxes for gifting. Over the years, one of my favourite things has been putting together thoughtful little gifts for friends, family and even my followers as a thank you for supporting my work. Beauty box products are absolutely perfect for this. Keep the bits you genuinely want, then use the others to create lovely little pamper bundles.

So when this Peeko beauty box arrived containing a Beauty Works X Molly-Mae Curl Kit alongside eight extra beauty products, I was very excited to have a rummage.

Is Boop Beauty now Peeko?

First, because this confused me too.

You might recognise these beauty boxes as Boop Beauty boxes. Boop hasn’t exactly just changed its name to Peeko. Peeko has actually brought Boop Beauty, Discount Dragon and Nutricircle and put them into one larger online store, so you’ll now find the beauty products and boxes over on Peeko.

The idea behind Boop has always been a really interesting one too. It focuses on rescuing genuine beauty stock that could otherwise go to waste because of things like overproduction, discontinued lines, older packaging or minor packaging imperfections.

It also explains some of the absolutely wild discounts.

One thing I have to mention is how Peeko presents its beauty boxes online. The graphics showing exactly what you’re getting, with each product laid out alongside its value, might genuinely be the fanciest beauty box graphics I’ve seen. It makes the whole thing look considerably more expensive than it is.

What’s inside the Peeko Beauty Works X Molly-Mae Beauty Box?

The star of this particular box is obviously the Beauty Works X Molly-Mae Curl Kit.

The Curl Kit has a 32mm extra-long barrel and is designed to create those big, soft, glamorous curls that Beauty Works and Molly-Mae are very much known for. It is particularly suited to longer hair and extensions. The current Peeko bundle costs £45, with the full bundle listed with an RRP of £230.

And then you get eight additional beauty products.

ARKIVE The Future Youth Treatment Mask

Let’s start with one I’ve already properly tested.

This is brilliant.

My hair felt amazing after using the ARKIVE The Future Youth Treatment Mask. It left it feeling noticeably softer and just generally much nicer, so this is definitely one of the products that has made it into my bathroom rather than my gifting stash.

ICONIC London Illuminator

A mini ICONIC London Illuminator is exactly the sort of product I love getting in a beauty box.

You don’t necessarily need a gigantic bottle of liquid highlighter, so a mini gives you more than enough product to properly try it. It is also perfect for throwing into a makeup bag for travelling.

Botanical Matrix WAKE UP Vitamin C Energising Oil

There is also a Botanical Matrix WAKE UP Vitamin C Energising Oil.

Again, this is why I like mixed beauty boxes. I probably wouldn’t have gone looking for this specific product myself, but now I get to try it without committing to buying a whole basket of new skincare.

Aveda Damage Remedy Restructuring Shampoo

Aveda is always a nice brand to see pop up in a beauty box, and this Damage Remedy Restructuring Shampoo is another ideal travel-sized product.

My holiday toiletries practically build themselves at this point.

Dr.PAWPAW SPF30 Lip Balm

I’ve always been a big Dr.PAWPAW fan, so I was happy to see not one but two of their products included.

The first is the SPF30 Lip Balm, which is particularly handy for summer, travelling or keeping in your handbag.

Dr.PAWPAW Shea Butter Balm

Then we have the Shea Butter Balm.

I actually think Dr.PAWPAW has been incredibly clever over the years because I swear their products have appeared in almost every beauty box to ever exist.

At this point, surely there is a Dr.PAWPAW balm living in most homes across Britain?

But it works. They’re genuinely useful, multi-purpose products at a brilliant price point, so what’s not to love?

SKIMONO Radiance Recovery 4C Eye Masks

The SKIMONO Radiance Recovery 4C Plumping Collagen Eye Masks are exactly the kind of product I save for a pamper evening, before an event or when my face is giving away just how tired I actually am.

They’re also another lovely one for adding to a little homemade beauty hamper.

MERYAM Eau de Parfum

And then we get to the slightly random one.

There is a MERYAM Eau de Parfum which is described as being inspired by Valentino Born in Roma.

I did initially look at it and think… is this a fake Valentino mini?

It isn’t pretending to actually be Valentino, to be clear. It’s an inspired-by fragrance. But I did find its inclusion slightly odd when so many of the other products come from really recognisable beauty brands.

Then again, fragrance dupes are absolutely everywhere now. Revolution Beauty, or Makeup Revolution, or whatever we’re calling them these days, haven’t had an original idea in about a decade.

I’m exaggerating.

A bit.

So I’m certainly not opposed to an affordable inspired-by fragrance. It just felt like the wildcard of the box.

Is the Peeko Beauty Box worth £45?

For me, the value of this one is pretty difficult to argue with.

You’re paying £45 and the main product alone is a substantial Beauty Works styling tool, before you even get into the additional haircare, skincare, makeup and body products.

Peeko currently lists the Beauty Works X Molly-Mae Curl Kit bundle as containing nine luxury products in total, with an RRP of £230.

Obviously, I never judge a beauty box purely on the claimed RRP. A box could technically contain £500 worth of products, but if I wouldn’t use any of them, it isn’t worth £500 to me.

This one feels much more usable.

I’ve already loved the ARKIVE hair mask, I’ve been a Dr.PAWPAW fan for years, the minis are brilliant for travelling and there are several products that would make perfect additions to gifts.

And then you have the Beauty Works X Molly-Mae Curl Kit as the hero product.

That is exactly what I want from a beauty box. Give me a couple of things I’m really excited about, a few useful staples and some products I’ve never tried before.

Plus, give me enough minis to dramatically announce that I’m “saving those for my holiday” for the next six months.

Beauty boxes will forever have me in a chokehold.
