The Ordinary – Is It Worth the Hype?

I feel like the last one to the The Ordinary party but I was far too skeptical and I really didn’t believe the hype so I only managed to get my hands on some of the range quite a while after it first launched. Deciem, the creators of The Ordinary seem to have created quite an impressive collection of products. You’ve probably all heard of this brand already, they’re smart looking products for next to nothing compared to other brands on the market. But the best thing about The Ordinary? The products actually do work! Although this selection of products wasn’t the best for my oily, spot prone skin, some of them have been amazing.

The Ordinary

The best product I’ve tried so far has been the Salicylic Acid 2% Solution 30ml at just £4.20 (I know!). I’ve been using this so much on my odd blemishes and it works really well.I wear it underneath other creams and products after giving it a few minutes to dry. A £4 spot treatment that works? I’ll definitely be buying one when mine runs out. My second favourite has been the Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution 240ml at £6.80. Another unbelievable price! You’ve probably heard of the incredibly popular Pixi Glow Tonic but this isn’t the same, it’s a 7% toner so it’s much stronger. An acid is meant to be used at night and only once a day, it makes your skin look visibly brighter and more radiant but it can be too much on sensitive skin. I don’t use this daily but I do use it every other day and then continue with my nightly skincare routine.

I was so shocked at how good the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 30ml at £5.90 is. I’ve been used to using such expensive Hyaluronic Acid products that I really didn’t think something so cheap was going to be any good. But I’m glad I was wrong. Most people know what an amazing ingredient HA is, which makes this one of those products from The Ordinary that you need to pick up. It makes anything you put on after it work that little bit more and it’s great for hydrating your skin. The final product that worked really well for me was the High-Adherence Silicone Primer 30ml at £3.90. I’ve used this so much as a makeup primer and it really is great! For the price it is seriously a bargain and it works so well on my oily skin and extra large pores.

I’m definitely going to be buying and trying more products from The Ordinary! Do you have any suggestions for me?
