New Bubble Bars at Lush – Hits & Misses

This year 26 new Bubble Bars at Lush were launched, which is their largest collection to date! You won’t find the full 26 in stores though, as, like their huge new bath bomb collection that came out last year, stores will be picking and choosing to curate what they want in their range. The full range is available online though and I was sent a couple of the new products to try out. Shockingly, I actually didn’t like some of the products and I definitely won’t be rebuying. I know right? Coming from the girl that pretty much bought the entire bath range last year. So, what are the different types of bubble bars at Lush?

Lush Bubble Bars

Standard bubble bars at Lush are hard to the touch but break very easily. You’re meant to break them up and use them in a few baths unless you’re feeling luxurious and use the whole thing. Most people do break them up which makes them the more cost-effective bath product.

I was sent the NANA bubble bar (£5.95) which is absolutely beautiful and we actually buy and use the shower gel with the same scent. It’s an edible smell, the same as the popcorn cleanser, Let The Good Times Roll. The BIG Comforter is definitely the highlight of this range with the comforter being made super-sized! At £20 for the entire bar, it does seem pricey, but when you see how many baths you can get out of it (I’m still going), you’ll realise how great it is!

Also in my photo is the Merard Tail Bubble Bar (£5.95) this comes with a bath melt tail attached to the top! Bath melts are super moisturising so this is a good one for anyone who needs some extra pampering.

Lush Bubbleroons

A bubbleroon is usually softer to the touch depending on how fresh it is, you can dint them easily. They’re a lot more moisturising and creamier. The newer bubbleroons look to be a bit harder, probably to avoid any going to waste! I’ve already bought and used the Golden Pear Bubbleroon which is really lovely and soothing.

Although I haven’t tried it, I bet the Rose Jam is the star of this range as it’s such a beautiful scent. It’s like a modern rose smell, none of the old lady rose we’re used to from most brands!

Lush Bubble Sticks

A more affordable option that will create bubbles for multiple baths! These are just £3.95 each and come in Crayon, Abracadabra, and Gold Finger. You drop them to the bottle of your bath and then take it out when you’ve got your desired amount of bubbles. Nice and easy!

Perfume Bubble Bottles

You hold these by the wax cap top under running water and let the bubbles appear, except, mine wasn’t very bubbly? I was sent the Love Bubble Perfume Bottle at £10 and was really disappointed. I didn’t get half as many bubbles and the water had a weird texture to it and weird feeling afterwards. It also left a mess in my bath which usually doesn’t happen.

Reuseable Bubble Bottles

As you’ve probably guessed, I had the same problem with the Lush Bubble Bottles. The wax cap on my ‘Big Bottle of Calm‘ was an utter mess and I was getting black wax everywhere. A lack of bubbles and a weird texture that stuck to my bath happened again with this one and I’ve actually given up on the bar completely. It’s just too much of a mess and it doesn’t make my skin feel as nice as the other products.

For these reasons, I wouldn’t recommend the bottles at all. They’re a great idea but something seems to be missing.

Have you used any of the new bubble bars at Lush? Tell me, what should be on my next shopping list?
