Gtech Hylite Cordless Vacuum Review
It seems that everyone on my Instagram becomes just as excited about a new hoover as I do! I was surprised at just how many of you can’t wait to hear about the Gtech Hylite! Even though with my chronic pain it means that I have rarely touched a hoover since my car accident, I’ve always been the one to shop around and buy them. You name it and we’ve tried it, mostly from the adverts and eventually a couple of recommendations from Mrs Hinch. Including a handheld hoover which I thought would be great for me and that I’d be able to at least clean up after myself. Well, a handheld hoover means you have to be able to reach everything you’re hoovering and with my bad back, that didn’t work out. At least everyone else in the house likes it. That’s why I wanted to review the Gtech HyLite at £129.99.
The Gtech Hylite is believed (by Gtech) to be the ‘smallest, most compact high-performance vacuum cleaner in the world’, it’s super lightweight (at just 1.5kg) and really impressive, with many features that make it perfect for someone with a disability or chronic illness. It needs very little maintenance as instead of long horses or tubes, the rubbish and dirt go straight into a vacuum bag that is just 1cm off the floor. A perk of the vacuum bags is that the Gtech Hylite needs less power than those hoovers with a cyclone bin, which also means there are no nasty filters to clean. No need to worry about the price though as a pack of 15 bags cost just £12.99 and should last for a year! It also means that it needs just a 2-hour charge to do a full 20 minute run time.
So, it’s just a cordless hoover then? Wrong! The Gtech HyLite has a feature where you can actually take the handle off and hoover your stairs with just the square part. It also means you can hoover your bed/mattress with ease, which is amazing for people with pets. My bed went from desperately needing washing as it was covered in Bella’s hair, to looking fresh out of the wash! It’s lightweight enough that I can actually use it myself, which is something I’m not able to do with over hoovers. You can also put the arm down for easy storage and to be able to use it like that as well. I think this is such a great feature for people with disabilities as you can reach everywhere and anywhere with it! It even comes with a bag so you can hang it up or it’s small enough to fit in a drawer. Meaning you can store it wherever would be the best for access.

Who is this good for?
Although I’d definitely say this is a perfect hoover for anyone with chronic pain and/or mobility issues, it would be a good day-to-day hoover for anyone looking for a cordless. The vacuum bag option is so much better than nasty dirty filters and the low maintenance aspect would be great for anyone with a busy life or would benefit from not spending excessive amounts of time cleaning out your hoover.
It’d also be good for anyone who can hoover their entire house in under 20 minutes, I know ours takes a little longer which is why this has become a hoover just for the middle floor and beds instead.
Overall, I can’t recommend it enough, I’m really impressed by the Gtech Hylite! Will you be getting one?
