Glow Brighter With Daily Self-Care Rituals
When it comes to your skin, there is no need to spend hours on it, or break the bank on every single product that you may think will work. Here are a few small rituals you can do every day to leave your skin looking and feeling its best.

Start & End with a Cleanse
At the beginning and each of each day, you should treat your skin to a cleanse. Whether it is sweat or dirt that may have accumulated while you slept or throughout the day, clearing it away is a must to keep your skin looking great.
There is also no need to buy bottles and bottles of cleanser; you can possibly find one in a skincare and beauty advent calendar that will do the job brilliantly.
Use Warm Water
While not necessarily a “ritual,” a small change you can make that will massively benefit your skin is simply turning down the temperature of your bath or shower water. Simply put, very hot water strips your skin of its natural oils and dries it out.
Instead, use lukewarm water instead, as this won’t be as harmful, but will still open your pores up and allow you to clean your face properly.
Apply Sunscreen
Applying sunscreen every morning should most definitely be a ritual you do every day. The sun and its UV rays can cause a lot of damage to your skin, such as drying it out, creating lines and wrinkles, and giving your skin a more leathery look.
Therefore, it is best to apply some moisturising sunscreen every day before you head out of the door. Even if it is overcast outside, don’t skip on the sunscreen, as the UV rays can still cause damage.
Moisturise
Speaking over moisturising, it should be another thing you do every day. Moisture is a building block when it comes to great skin, and considering that there are plenty of ways to lose moisture in your skin, it is essential to add some to your skin every day.
There is no need to use a lot, unless you have naturally dry skin, and it is best to moisturise just as you get out of the shower or bath, as the moisturiser will lock in the water that is already on your skin.
Face Massage
One small thing you can do while doing your skincare routine is to give yourself a quick face massage. Using upward and circular motions, a face massage will help stimulate blood flow, and help you reduce tension that you may be holding in your face.
Use a Cold Roller
Before you do your skincare, you can use a cold roller across your face. The cold can help reduce any swelling and puffiness you may be experiencing, such as around your eyes, especially if you haven’t been sleeping properly.
A jade roller or ice globes are great for this, as you can place them in the freezer the night before. If you don’t want to invest in them, you can place a spoon in the freezer instead, or use an ice cube or two to do the same job.
Drink Plenty of Water
Water is an absolute must when it comes to having fresh and clear skin. Water helps to keep your skin plump and hydrated, and can also help cleanse it of impurities. The easiest way to do this is to have a big glass of water when you wake up, and then fill up a large reusable bottle before you head out the door.
Eat a Healthy Diet
Your diet also plays a role in how good your skin looks, and no amount of product can fight against a bad diet. While there is no need to eat super healthily, cutting down on sugar, processed fats, and alcohol is a great start.
You can also add a few new things to your diet, such as fatty fish, which is high in Omega-3, which is great for keeping your skin looking youthful.
Keep Your Hands Clean
One thing you may not think about too much is how often you touch your face throughout the day. Whether it be because of an itch, a sneeze, or almost anything else, you probably touch your face 10 times as much as you may think.

Because of this, always be sure to wash your hands regularly, especially when you are in public spaces, as there is no guarantee of cleanliness. Avoid using hand sanitiser, as you may be getting rid of bacteria, but not necessarily getting rid of dirt and grime.
Treat it as a Ritual
While each of these steps can be seen as rituals on their own, treat your overall skin routine as a ritual in and of itself. Get up a bit earlier in the morning, put on some music or light a candle, and take your time with what you are doing.
In the evenings, when your time is a bit more flexible, turn your evening routine into a mini spa day. This not only makes it less of a chore, but it also makes it more enjoyable, and far easier to stick to.
