Events Roundup – A Crazy Couple of Months!

I remember last year when I was beyond jealous at all of these fancy events that I had to keep saying no to, due to having a part-time job and unpredictable hours. Now I’m my own boss, I’m awesome at giving myself days off to swan around the country at various events and I wanted to share some of my favourite events in the last couple weeks/months. There have been so many events close together lately and the first one of this massive influx was St Ledger’s Ladies Day at Doncaster Races. After previously attending the year before, Mum and I were so happy to be invited for the second year in a row and this time, we’d be even more prepared. Armed with comfortable shoes, better dresses and more of taste for alcohol, we set out to have an amazing day and we definitely achieved it.

We were lucky enough to be attending with some of our friends, but we definitely made new ones on the day too, especially Mum, whoever tried her hand at matchmaking and making me keel over with laughter. As always the races were amazing and Ladbrokes absolutely spoilt us with the 3-course meal, cute goodie bags, and endless wine. We even ended up winning on a couple of bets whilst attempt to drink the table dry of wine. The first-ever bloggers I met were my now Leeds friends, and being able to spend time with them makes me so happy. This really was a day to remember, thanks again Branded3 and if you are going to do the races, I cannot recommend a sit-down meal with private boxes enough, especially after experiencing trying to do a free-for-all at the York Races!

Not long after, Mum and I were heading off to London for a day trip for the Navabi Launch Event. Navabi really is one of the best premium online stores for high end plus size clothing and now, they’re launching their own range, which I have to say is flipping stunning. We were blown away by the event and the fact that everyone at Navabi was just so attentive and really took pride in their work. It was a fabulous event for networking and I always love meeting the people behind the brands. Not only did Navabi give us all a goodie bag with a mascara, scarf and a whopping £100 off anything in their collection, as well as a piece from the collection each, but the beautiful designer of the collection, Christine Shaw, was even kind enough to gift my Mum something too! My Mum’s wardrobe will soon be better than mine…Navabi really know how to do an event, there was alcohol, food, a presentation, goodie bags, a trying on session, and a professional photographer to take photos of everyone and document it all so we could just enjoy ourselves. I really love when events have this, it takes so much pressure off of bloggers to take photos of every inch of the event. I got to meet and catch up with so many mega babes at this event and thankfully, we all got an amazing group shot! These photos are all from Navabi and I’ll soon be showing you how I’ve styled this beautiful doubled breasted asymmetric coat.

Between then and now, there has been another huge shoot with Scarlett & Jo, but that’s for post and another day. Instead, I want to finish off by talking about the new Lush Meadowhall! After working at Lush Meadowhall for two years, and it was actually this time last year that I was debating whether or not I could make enough working for myself to quit, I’m a little sad to see the old place go. However, with travelling so much, I am spending a lot of time in Lush Oxford Street and now Meadowhall has the same up-to-date and eco-friendly layout! I am SO excited for the new store and it was such a great VIP night, there were enough staff to really make sure everyone was seen to and well pampered. The event had so much going on, including live entertainment from my old coworker Fauve, massages from a spa therapist, making bubble bars and generally just having fun.The store is a little bit bigger than the old one, from the outside it doesn’t look it, but I think it’s because the windows are obviously still covered up whilst they were waiting for the big launch (which was today actually, so go shop!) The store is jam packed of new Halloween and Christmas products and there was talks of a few Oxford Street exclusives just specially brought in for the opening of the store. I’m a little too familiar with the oxford products to recognise them in a crowd of brightness though. Alfie joined me at the event as an official blogger too and ended up pretty much talking to every single shop assistant whilst having his fair share of the champagne. We loved the event, ended up spending a small fortune and will definitely be back.
