What’s New With the CurrentBody LED Mask Series 3?

The biggest difference between the Series 3 and previous CurrentBody masks is the new MyDose technology, which lets you personalise your LED treatment through the CurrentBody app.

The mask features 750 LED bulbs and six different wavelengths: red (633nm), near-infrared (830nm), deep near-infrared (1072nm), blue (415nm), green (532nm) and yellow (590nm).

These are used in treatments targeting different skincare concerns, including fine lines, blemishes, redness and uneven skin tone.

You can choose from four preset modes: Advanced Anti-Ageing, Advanced Clearing, Complexion Corrector and Balance & Brighten.

CurrentBody Series 3 vs Series 2: Is It Worth Upgrading?

I’ve used the original CurrentBody red light mask, the Series 2 and the dedicated CurrentBody Blue Light Therapy Mask.

The biggest improvement from Series 1 to Series 2 was definitely comfort. The newer silicone design and improved straps made such a difference, and I could comfortably wear my mask while working, watching television or relaxing.

The Series 3 keeps that comfortable design but adds an entirely different level of personalisation.

Instead of having a fixed red light treatment, you can choose different wavelengths for different areas of your face.

And with six wavelengths and 750 LEDs, there’s considerably more flexibility than with the Series 2.

For me, that’s a much more exciting upgrade than simply adding more lights!

If you’re happy with your existing CurrentBody LED Light Therapy Mask and only want red light treatments, you might not need to upgrade.

But if you have several different skin concerns, I think the Series 3 is definitely worth considering.

My Honest CurrentBody Series 3 Review After Four Weeks

I’ve now been using the Series 3 for four weeks, and what I’m most impressed by is how easy everything is.

I expected the personalised treatments to be a lot more complicated, but the app makes creating them so simple. The fact that my mum and Alfie immediately created their own says everything!

The mask itself is lovely to wear, and I can still carry on working while doing my treatments, which is a huge bonus.

There are two things I’d change, though.

Firstly, the controller is a little bulkier than previous versions. I understand why it needs to be, but it’s noticeable.

Secondly, I really wish you could lock the controller! I’ve accidentally paused my treatments a few times without realising, which is slightly annoying.

As for results, I’ve been using LED therapy for years, so I wasn’t expecting a dramatic overnight transformation.

My spots still come and go, and four weeks is too early for me to say whether the Series 3 is delivering better skin results than my previous masks.

I’ve always found consistent LED treatments help my skin look calmer and brighter, though, and I’m excited to see what difference these more targeted treatments make over time.
