The iconic Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup has recently been reimagined. It now retails for £39.50 and features a 36-hour colour-true claim.

My first experience with the original Double Wear was frustrating; it felt tight and sticky. However, the 2026 reformulation is much more “fluid” and breathable. It now includes Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide, which helps it feel less like a mask.

That said, it still sets very quickly. You have to work in sections or it will dry before you can blend it out. It is still the “king” of longevity; if you have a wedding or a 12-hour shift, this is the one that will not budge. It is also transfer-proof and humidity-resistant.

Pros:

MAC Studio Fix Fluid is a foundation I have returned to for years. It has also been remastered recently to a “soft-matte” finish with 87% skincare ingredients.

  • Shades: 71

  • Finish: Soft Matte

I have always found Studio Fix much easier to work with. It blends beautifully with a damp sponge and can be layered from medium to full coverage without looking cakey. The new formula feels even lighter than before and includes an easy-to-apply pump as standard (finally!).

Another bonus is the Back-to-MAC recycling scheme. In 2026, they have expanded this, and returning your empty foundation bottles can earn you rewards or discounts on new refills, which is great for the environment and your wallet.

Pros:

  • Massive shade range (71 shades).

  • Very easy to blend and build up.

  • More “natural” looking finish for everyday wear.

Cons:
