Christmas 2020 Gift Guide

I love buying presents for people. Honestly, I think I enjoy seeing other people open presents that I’ve picked for them, more than I actually like opening the presents myself! I really enjoy spending the time thinking about what that person really likes, sourcing the very best for them and dreaming up exciting ways to present it to them. I’ve got a pretty wide variety of people that I’m shopping for – I buy everything from bits for your toolbox to bits for your jewellery box, so I thought it would be useful for me to put together a little guide of the types of things I buy for the people in my life. So without further ado – here is my Christmas 2020 gift guide!

For Mum

My Mum is one of my best friends, so I make sure I always really pamper her for Christmas – and her birthday and Mother’s Day, for that matter! Which means I’ve always got a list of great ideas for shopping for Mums. Sometimes I go for something that she really needs but won’t buy for herself, like a great coat or a new piece of furniture. But you can’t go wrong with a piece of Carus jewellery to make her feel really special, as you take the time to find the piece to suit her perfectly. 

For Dad

My Dad is always pretty easy to buy for – I tend to go for either something for his toolbox or some kind of gadget! I also love the idea of going really fancy since it’s 2020 and we’ve all had a rubbish year, and maybe going for something like antique cufflinks or something else to make it feel extra special. Pamper products always seem tricky for men, but they don’t need to be – hair and beard oils, if you’re Dad, is more on the hirsute side, and if not then they can still benefit from a good skincare set!

For Your Partner

I love buying experiences for people, but I’m going to have to think outside the box this year since we don’t know when things are going to go back to normal! Experiences you can share indoors are a great alternative, such as date night ideas, food subscription services and even games that you can play together. 

For Siblings

Sure, you might spend all year bickering with your siblings, but Christmas Day is the one day of the year where you can put aside your squabbles and make your sibling feel special. A bottle of their favourite drink or one of their favourite fragrances is a really simple way to let somebody know that you care, or you could go for a typical Secret Santa style gag gift to put a smile on their face – there’s no better person to play a festive joke on than your sibling! 

For Your Bestie

You and your best friend had to pick each other up more often than ever in 2020, so some pampering pressies are an absolute must! Go for gifts that are made especially for relaxing and taking it easy, such as bath bombs and hot chocolate kits, as a way to send your bestie the gift equivalent of a hug.
