With only being disabled for a few years now I am constantly finding out about all the different help and resources there are available. There is so much more than I ever imagined, but, it’s not always easy to find out about them. Yorkshire Water Priority Service is different, they want to shout from the rooftops that they’re here to help you!
So, What is the Yorkshire Water Priority Service?
This is a completely free service provided by water companies, like Yorkshire Water, to help those who need it most. Whether you’re disabled yourself, blind, deaf, or even just elderly and need a little help or have a family member that is, Yorkshire Water can make your lives a little easier.
Yorkshire Water Priority Service is there to help you with your bills, whether you need them in a bigger font, in braille, audio bills, or perhaps even sent to another person (nominated contact), they can even visit you in person to make sure you have the information you need. What really surprised me the most, and something I hadn’t even thought of, as if your water supplies are going to be interrupted, they will deliver water to your door!
This is amazing for people with mobility issues who may not be able to go and get their own. You can also be put on a priority supply connection, meaning your water will come first if it’s ever interrupted. Whether it’s drinking water, needing water to take medication, or needing a lot of water for your condition, it’s so great that Yorkshire Water offers this delivery service and make sure you have what you need.
It’s not just disabled people that can benefit from this scheme, but they also take care of unwanted phone calls and visits to your door, by setting up a password. This is great for people with elderly family members. You can even have a nominated person who will be the point of contact so that you don’t have to bother an ill member of the family or friend.
Lastly, if you physically cannot get down to access your water meter, Yorkshire Water can help you with that too!
Who is eligible?
