8 Slightly More Expensive Skincare Picks

To say I’m behind on skincare reviews is an understatement. Some of these products are now completely used up and long gone! I’ve got quite a few skincare reviews coming up so I’ve tried to section them into more interesting posts, this is more of a skincare luxury picks. So if you’re looking to invest in some luxury, high-end skincare then this is the post for you!

J.ONE Hana Cream, 8 Slightly More Expensive Skincare Picks

J.ONE Hana Cream – £38

You may have seen the name J.One around a lot and that’s because they seem to be taking the beauty world by storm. This Korean beauty brand hasn’t been in the UK long, but it has been selling out constantly. Especially their jelly primer, although I just couldn’t get a hang of that. This Hana Cream is completely different though, this is a whole new way to apply face cream. These little capsules contain the exact amount you need for your face for 1 application. Never worry about overapplying again! This product is all about fine lines, wrinkles, and helping the firmness of your skin. It feels so beautiful on, there’s no waste at all, and plus it’s a little different too!

kypwell deep cleansing mask, kypwell regenerating scrub, 8 Slightly More Expensive Skincare Picks

Kypwell Intensive Deep Cleansing Mask – €39.00

Facemasks for oily skin are always my favourite because when I take them off, there’s a noticeable difference in my skin. I look photo ready, my skin is softer, less red, and just genuinely looks amazing. This helps with the excess oils, and therefore it’s great to help with spots and blackheads. You can use it just on ‘problem’ areas, or all over if you’re really oily like I am. It contains kaolin which is clay, but it’s not as thick as most clay masks. I think that’s due to it having a pump, it comes out quite runny and I think that does make me use way more than I need to, but I love a pamper so I don’t mind too much.

Kypwell Deep & Regenerating Face Scrub – €34.00

This is such an extremely exfoliating scrub! It works better when you let it dry on your hand before applying it, as then you get more of the scrub. You can really exfoliate the hard to reach areas. It’s best to use your fingers and make circular motions. It has a very weird smell, I don’t personally like it, but I like what the product does. With chamomile, orange peel, almond kernels, and apricot for the more known ingredients, and then there’s licorice root and other herbal extracts that must give it the earthier smell.

Jane Scrivner Skinfoliate, 8 Slightly More Expensive Skincare Picks

Jane Scrivner Skinfoliate – £26

This toner has really surprised me. I loved the sound of it on the website with having AHA & BHA acids, it sounded like something my skincare routine was definitely missing. Not only does it make my skin feel smoother, cleaner, but it also ‘feels’ like it’s doing something too. It kind of stimulates the skin a little. It does have a strong smell of apple cider vinegar, but that goes away after a few minutes. This also contains lactic, salicylic, glycolic and other acids. It’s honestly amazing, I’ve noticed a huge difference in my skin and I’m going to be picking up another come payday!

8 Slightly More Expensive Skincare Picks, nourishing cleanser

Jane Scrivner Nourishing Cleanser – £33.00

This cleanser is so utterly beautiful. It smells like an aromatherapy treatment in a tub! It’s super creamy, melts your makeup right off, and is overall a real treat to use. It has 9 essential oils that make up its wonderful smell as well as Vitamins A, B, D, and E and Omega 6 & 9! This really is a luxurious cleanser but you could easily use this as a little mask for when your skin is feeling drier, or use it as part of a pamper night and give yourself or someone else, a full facial.

timebomb Throwback Thursday Overnight Peel and Reveal, 8 Slightly More Expensive Skincare Picks timebomb Throwback Thursday Overnight Peel and Reveal, 8 Slightly More Expensive Skincare Picks

Throwback Thursday Overnight Peel and Reveal – £42

I always have to have a good peel in my skincare routine but this is something different. It’s a two-step process, that you use once a week. You start by using Step 1 which is the AHA Serum (chemical exfoliation). Simply apply this before bed and the many acids get to work to get rid of your dull, dry, top layer of skin. In the morning you use step 2 which is a Dermabrasion Cream (mechanical exfoliation), to buff away the layer of skin that the peel was working on. It has ‘dermatological grade’ ingredients which buff away the top layer and leave a fresh, smooth, new layer of skin. It’s quite easy to remember to do, and a very simple yet effective process. It can help with fine lines, uneven skin, and dry skin.

I don’t find that it’s as effective as other peels I’ve used, but I still like it as something that’s not as harsh.

8 Slightly More Expensive Skincare Picks, nakin natural

Nakin Natural Anti-Ageing Advanced Cleansing Milk – £15.00

This is a super lightweight cleansing milk, it’s not strong enough to use to remove makeup, but it makes a great morning cleanse. Or perhaps a second cleanse with a cloth to ensure you get everything off properly. It’s an anti-ageing formula with hyaluronic acid, olive oil, seaweed extract, and pomegranate extract. It’s really soft and beautiful but it’s not been something that I reached for a lot.

Nakin Natural Anti-Ageing Performance Face Serum – £25.00

This serum has such a lovely smell to it, subtle, yet enjoyable. With Rosemary leaf extract, green tea, Pomegranate, Hyaluronic Acid, and Hydrolyzed Hibiscus Extract, it has everything to help fine lines and wrinkles, as well as keeping the skin as moisturised as possible. The ingredients help with sun damage, oxidation, and elasticity. It’s not as wet or sticky as other serums I’ve tried and you can easily layer a product on top thanks to how fast it sinks in. Both of these Nakin Natural products are slightly more affordable than the rest, usually, the serums I’ve come across are £40+!

8 Slightly More Expensive Skincare Picks, cult 51

CULT51 Neck and Décolleté Cream – £90

Even though I’ve been into skincare for as long as I can remember, I’ve never bothered with my décolleté and that’s a big mistake. This is one of the main areas where ageing shows up, especially as it’s so easily burnt. That means that darker chest areas, uneven skin, ageing spots, and other signs of ageing are usually found in this area first. It’s so important to protect your décolleté, but if you haven’t, fear not there’s still time! This helps the skin feel firmer and with prolonged use, it can create a more youthful appearance. It does take a good 6 weeks to see noticeable results but it’s worth the time. This cream contains Vitamin C, and Moroccan argan nut oil to moisturise. However, it’s not sticky and it’s not too thick either. Meaning that if you really wanted to speed up the process and put this on morning and night, you definitely could without it being sticky or annoying. My mum and I have been putting this on whilst working and we both love it, the formula does look slightly pearlised too so it immediately makes the skin look brighter.

8 Slightly More Expensive Skincare Picks, is clinical

Is Clinical Cleansing Complex – £17

This cleanser really does not feel impressive whilst you’re using it at all, in fact, I was quite underwhelmed. When you read about the ingredients and what it can help with over time, that’s when it becomes worth using. It contains willow bark extract, a source of salicylic acid. This is a great ingredient for oily and spot prone skin like mine. Unfortunately, I just didn’t think much to it at all.

The serum is a lot more impressive, not only does it have more active ingredients, but it also tingles the skin a little when first applied too. I always love a product with active ingredients that produce an immediate reaction. This contains the same willow bark extract, but this time it’s higher at 2% Salicylic Acid, 2% lactic acid, and 8% Glycolic Acid. This means that with the ingredients it will help your skin to glow and be spot free. A little goes a long way with this serum and it’s definitely going to last a long time!

8 Slightly More Expensive Skincare Picks, balmkind

Balmkind – £13 each

Last but not least, Balmkind! This brand of lip balms helps with peeling and cracking, but also just helping your lips to look their best on every day. What I love most about this is that there’s an SPF20 version, which helps protect your lips from harmful UV Rays. Of course, just like any other sun protection, you need to put this on before going in the sun and top up every few hours, or when you eat/drink.
