Hits & Misses from Sleek Makeup

I always see people raving about Sleek Makeup but I haven’t tried or used anything from them in so many years now. To be honest I’m not blown away by everything, but then again, when am I ever? Let’s get the ones that didn’t impress me out of the way first.

It was incredibly surprisingly that the new Vitality Fresh Foundation (£8.99) in shade vf01 was actually pale enough for me. Sure it was a little on the pink side, but because it’s a light to medium coverage, you really could not tell. If it was a heavier coverage then it would definitely be too dark. I found the foundation to be quite patchy and definitely not something I would ever wear out.

When I posted a photo of this look on Instagram everyone loved the lipstick, but as great as the colours are, the formulas of the Matte Liquid Lipsticks (£4.99) leave a lot to be desired. I had to apply multiple coats to get an even look, despite the description saying that only one is needed. I found the texture to be incredibly chalky and drying, definitely not good for a comfortable wear.

Although the liquids from Sleek Makeup didn’t impress me, the formula of the powders are a completely different issue! I actually think they saved the makeup look above and are the only reason why it’s passable. My contour, blush, and highlight all look amazing and I am definitely going to be opting for Sleek Makeup powders more often.

I really didn’t think that the Face Form palette (£10) in Light would be light enough for my skin, but with a bit of buffing, the contour looks great! It’s a lot warmer than I’m used to but with blush and highlight, it all works together really well. In fact, all of their blushes are absolutely stunning but I especially like the one in the palette because it’s a shimmer blush and I really think that adds a warmer glow. The Highlighter Palette is also stunning, the powders are incredibly easy to work with, they build up and blend down, everything you would want from a powder products really.
