6 Luxury Perfumes To Try In 2021 from The Perfume Shop
Since becoming part of the Scent Squad at The Perfume Shop, I have had the absolute pleasure of trying 6 luxury perfumes over the past few months. Due to the pandemic and the fact that I haven’t been out of the house for a year in March, I can’t say I’ve been wearing much perfume. I’ve actually never just worn perfume around the house or to bed, until these past few months where I thought, why not? Isn’t it nice to just smell nice?
I used to love nothing more than getting a waft of my perfume whilst I was out and about and now I get the same wafts rolling over in bed. I don’t do it every day as perfume is expensive, especially the ones that I like! However, every now and again when I need a pick me up it definitely helps.
6 Luxury Perfumes To Try In 2021
Moschino Toy 2 (Eau De Parfum) – 50ml / £65.00
I saw Toy Boy first and absolutely fell in love with the packaging and was so pleased to see there was a Toy 2 version. The matching pair in a couple’s dressing room looks beyond adorable! Out of all of the perfumes in this post, this was actually my least favourite as I am a fan of darker, deeper smells rather than florals. This is more of a lighter daytime scent.
Top Notes: Mandarin, Granny Smith Apple, Magnolia
Heart Notes: Jasmine Petals, Peony, White Currant
Base Notes: Amber Wood, Sandalwood, Crystalline Musk
Yves Saint Laurent Libres (Eau De Parfum) – 50ml / £78.00
I actually asked for a YSL Mini Perfume Set for Christmas last year because I loved this in store and wanted to try it more. Although it’s described as a floral scent, I think it’s deeper than that. This is definitely a going out scent, it’s strong, powerful, and long-lasting. Exactly what I love in fragrance and if you’re looking for luxury perfumes, this is one to try!
Top notes – Mandarin, Blackcurrant, Petitgrain
Heart notes – Jasmine, Lavender, Orange Blossom
Base notes – Vanilla, Cedar, Ambergris, Musk
Hugo Boss – Alive (Eau De Parfum) – 50ml / £72.00
I absolutely adore jasmine and vanilla in perfumes and this one is a real beauty. It only came out later last year and it’s on the deeper woodier side. It’s another one that I’d reach for to wear at night.
Top notes – Apple
Heart notes – Jasmine, Cedarwood
Base notes – Vanilla, Sandalwood
Armani – My Way (Eau De Parfum) – 50ml / £76.00
Another fragrance that came out late last year is the Armani My Way, this innovation bottle is actually refillable and recyclable. This is definitely a floral smell but not thankfully not too overpowering. It’s absolutely beautiful and as I’m spraying it now whilst I type, it’s going higher and higher on my love list.
I also adore that it comes with its own case, I now want individual cases for all my perfumes! What a fantastic way to store, travel with and keep them safe. I think it even makes it more special for gifting too and definitely one of the luxury perfumes you should try.

Jean-Paul Gaultier – La Belle (Eau De Parfum) – 50ml / £72.00
Ready to hear about the star of the show? Jean-Paul Gaultier La Belle is seriously the most beautiful perfume I’ve ever come across. It’s in the same ‘family’ of perfumes I usually like but I don’t like the term so instead, I call them deeper and even more sensual smelling fragrances. For example, my all-time favourites are YSL Black Opium and Marc Jacobs Decadence. La Belle is now up there with my top favourite luxury perfumes.
Although I only got the bottle a few months back, I already have a second ready and waiting to go. It’s seriously so stunning and strong! I actually don’t think it’ll be one that many people will like as it’s very very strong and can be overpowering, I find that I wear a fraction of perfume to what I usually would. It’s utter perfection to me!
Top notes – Green Pear

Jimmy Choo – I Want Choo (Eau De Parfum) – 60ml / £65
This brand new Jimmy Choo perfume is available only at The Perfume Shop, you won’t find it anywhere else and it has gone straight on my top luxury perfumes list. With jasmine and vanilla, this is another one that’s in my favourite fragrance family. It’s only been here a few days and already I’ve been wearing it just around the house!
Top notes – Peach, Mandarin Orange
Heart notes – Red Spider Lily, Jasmine Sambac
Base notes – Vanilla, Benzoin Scent
