5 Every Occasion Plus Size Outfits

Seen as the weather has really heated up, I thought it’d be a great time to do a post on 5 every occasion plus size outfits to help you navigate through some summer styles and options!

Wedding/Formal Event

Coast Curve
Maude Print Organza Dress – £169

Coast Curve is available in sizes 20 – 26 and I would definitely say that you have to size up at least once to get the right fit. I’m wearing a size 24 in this quite unusual Maude Print Organza dress. Although it is a fit and flare style, the fitted part at the top is very restricting and tight, but it also gapes a little bit under the arms. It means that my side boob/armpit pokes out a little which I’ve never had before. The flare of the dress is quite big and a tad uneven from the multiple layers, but the pattern on it is beautiful. It’s a very pretty dress overall! I can definitely see this being a beautiful option for weddings, or any formal event this summer. I think this is a great dress for warmer weather due to the capped sleeves and swishy skirt, it’s very breezy despite the layers.

Festival

Simply Be
Sequin Festival Kimono – £59.00

Heading to a festival this year? Then you definitely need sequins! This sequin kimono from Simply Be has taken the plus-size world by storm but it’s nearly sold out in every size. Be quick if you want to snap up any last sizes! I’m wearing a size 20 as I imagined it would be oversized and it definitely is, I wouldn’t size down more than 1/2 though as the lining inside isn’t as oversized. There’s even matching shorts to go with this and it looks rather awesome together!

You don’t necessarily have to wear much underneath this as the kimono really does all the talking, I just decided to throw it on over my new Tutti Rouge Rougette Bra. I absolutely love my other Rougette Bra and I had my eyes on the Ruby Black Bra for a while. The Rougette range is such an affordable price at just £20 or less and they’re so comfortable. I should really be wearing a 38/40 but sometimes I opt for 40+ backs now as it’s much easier on my chronic back pain. I’m wearing a 42G here and although it’s the perfect fit on me, I was incredibly comfortable wearing this. I think the lace detailing on the sides is super cute and it makes for a great everyday bra! I’m also wearing Chaffree, as always!

Floral Print Short Sleeve Bardot Midi Dress – £29.50

I couldn’t find a single thing that I liked in the M&S Curve range and I didn’t realise that their main range does up to a size 24. I started looking around and absolutely fell in love with this gorgeous navy and orange floral print. It’s a midi dress and it’s beyond comfortable and actually quite a generous 24. I could have easily worn a 22 in this style. When I first tried it on I thought the waistband was far too long, but you can easily pull it up and hide it under your bust for your desired look. I can’t wait to wear this on holiday!

Floral Print Crinkle Full Maxi Skirt – £27.50

Obviously as soon as I saw a skirt in the same print I just had to have it! The skirt only goes up to a 22 and was still in stock in the regular length, the long version had already sold out or I would have bought that. It turns out the regular length is quite perfect on me though and a size 22 fits perfectly! I wore this around for food shopping on a hot day and it’s so lightweight and breezy. I’d obviously wear this with a different top, maybe something navy or orange, but just for ease I popped on an old Boohoo top.

Plus Maggie Bow Front Striped Skater Dress – £20

When I first saw this dress on the model I thought it’d look so cute on my holiday, but when I tried to get it on for the first time, I was seriously confused. The bust is actually completely open with a huge gaping part that would obviously cover up on much smaller boobs, and smaller people. I thought this was quite a weird design for a plus-size collection. It’s super lightweight, one of the thinnest dresses I’ve ever worn which makes it perfect for super hot days. It’s a really lovely length and quite below my knee meaning a breeze wouldn’t expose anything. I’ve picked this for the beach as I feel that with beachwear underneath, maybe a bright bikini, that the open gap would look almost on purpose, rather than a strange design!
