Yves Rocher Elixir 7.9 Youth Intensifier

I always wonder with brands that if their makeup is impressive, can their skincare be just as good? I recently reviewed a wonderful little mascara from Yves Rocher thanks to Baobella, and today I’m going to let you know about my skincare favourite of this month, Yves Rocher’s Elixir 7.9. An unusual name for a product, ‘elixir’ always makes me think of a magical potion, so straight away it’s a thumbs up from me. This little Elixir has been calming my skin down after a little reaction I’ve had around my eyes this month. Normally my skin is everything but sensitive, and this meant that I really didn’t know how to tackle my skin. I stripped everything back to basics and I used this Yves Rocher Elixir as a night lotion and slept in it.

Yves Rocher Elixir 7.9 has a lot of grand claims and is described as,
‘Imagine a treatment capable of boosting the anti-ageing effectiveness of your usual skin care*. Elixir 7.9, with 7 plants and 9 anti-ageing patents, delivers all its concentrated power to your skin with one single drop. To be used every day, morning and evening, under your usual day cream to greatly increase its rejuvenating effectiveness or, as a 1-month intensive treatment 2 to 3 times per year, when your skin needs it. Paraben free formula, tested under dermatological supervision. Suitable for all women and all skin types.Elixir 7.9 has been tested and approved by nearly 200 women during a 1-month period. They noted visible rejuvenating effects on their skin: Smoothed wrinkles, Boosted radiance, Protected skin, Refined skin texture, Redensified skin, Relaxed skin, New skin effect, Revitalised skin, Firmer skin’

Pretty bold claims, right? I love the idea of it just being a booster than can be used under any other anti-ageing skincare, and that you would only have to use it a couple times a year. Products like this really stand out for me as it’s almost as if they’re claiming to work so well that you’ll rarely need them. As for the other claims I can confirm that my skin does feel smoother and firmer, that has indeed made my natural skin look a lot better. Still it isn’t enough of a miracle to enable me to leave my house without makeup, maybe one day. Dermatologically tested is a term that we come by a lot and not many of us know that it just means it was tested on human skin, often it isn’t revealed how many or how long, so I’m really impressed at them divulging that information here. Overall, I’m pretty happy with it, there’s no irritation at all despite using it on slightly broken skin and there’s no residue in the morning. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for something really gentle yet effective night serum, plus it’s quite reasonably priced at £35.50 to say you only need one drop and use it every couple of months!
