I did try to take my photos out in my usual spot on the decking but with the frosty mornings, it’s definitely a health and safety risk to wear heels up there. So my mid-January fashion post has Christmas themed photos, well apart from this beautiful Studio 8 dress as I managed to get some awesome photos on Ryan’s new iPhone 7 whilst in York. Still it’s definitely winter plus size fashion. I loved the photos so much that I also bought the phone! Hopefully it means my photos from out and about will be this beautiful, but it does require sunlight, something which Sheffield is seriously lacking lately. Anyway, this Studio 8 Dress is from House of Fraser Party Outfits section. This is the Viola Dress at £72.25 reduced from £120 and it’s so beautiful. Incredible quality, a great fit in a 22 but the only problem I had was it being a tad too high necked for me. I’m wearing a big girl bra (meaning a good bra) here and yet, my boobs look sad and that makes me sad. This definitely is a running theme with Studio 8 and a running theme with more pricier items, why do you not like cleavage!?
Moving onto my new favourite dress that I now need in every colour imaginable, this Lindybop Grace’ 50’s Vintage Sweetheart Style Prom/Cocktail Dress at £24. It is the tiniest bit too tight on my chest in a size 22, but if I was walking around/not sitting for too long then you really cannot tell. It’s a great fit everywhere else, a fantastic length, and such a beautiful colour. I’m equally as happy with this incredible black lace jacket from Live Unlimited. As soon as I saw it I loved it and that feeling hasn’t changed. It’s a very sophisticated long-line jacket with a trimmed edge, which I found is a tad tight on the arms but I think a size 22 in this would look too big overall.
The second Lindybop dress isn’t as impressive. It seems there’s a lot less material in the skirt which makes it look tighter on my tummy. Although the top of this Bella Teal Dress is actually beautiful with a very clever design that pulls any extra fabric on the top and back so that it isn’t gaping. I really loved this but it still wasn’t a good fit on me. At £27 it’s definitely worth a try as it really does depend on your body shape for what Lindybop style suits you.
Boohoo sent me a couple things to see if I would Stay In Or Slayin’ and I’ve definitely picked to slay with this beautiful glitter duster with velvet trim at £25. I really wasn’t expecting to like it so much but it’s just so glamourous! In a 22 it’s a perfect fit, super stretchy and it makes my booty look amazing!
Last but definitely not least, the Gatsbylady Angelina Vintage Inspired Maxi Dress at £95 and in a size 22. I always wear a 22 in Gatsbylady but I was told this might be a little tighter and I definitely felt that. Still very comfortable, glamourous, and a beautiful dress. Gatsbylady are always my go-to dresses for an evening out and I’ve been wanting to wear a maxi version for months now as the colder months aren’t always the kindest on bare legs. This is definitely going to be one of those dresses that my mum steals as she’s had her eyes on it since it arrived, always a sign of an amazing dress.
