Snake Halloween Look using Urban Decay Moondust Palette

You may have noticed that my blog posts and Instagram feed are completely out of sync for this Halloween and I can only apologise. If you follow me anywhere you’ll have probably noticed that my chronic pain has progressively become more of an issue so I’m a lot slower, simply because my body can’t handle life, ha! I joke but seriously I’m really not organised this Halloween but, you all seem to be enjoying my Halloween makeup looks anyway and I really thank you for that!

A couple weeks ago, maybe even a month or two, I received the Moondust palette from the lovely people at Urban Decay. I hadn’t had the chance to try much from UD before a store came to Meadowhall and now I am hooked. The moondust palette was SO perfect to use here on this reptile look. The flash did ruin the top of the look a little but my eyes are creepy and on fleek. If I do say so myself.

The technique for this was pretty simple, for the base I always mix cheap eyeshadows with foundation, but this year I’m using a facial oil to add moisture to the formula and stop my skin from looking so dry and overly done. It’s working really well! Maybe those Instagram beauty posters are on to something…

Anyway, the scale are built up over time. A rough outline with a wet brush and darker glitter from the Moon Dust palette, and the Makeup Revolution Felt Liner. I then started to build up the colours and layers by continuing to draw the scales back on, at the same time as filling in the gaps in the same shape. For the facial shape I simply added a few lines to elongate my eyes. With the red contacts, I think it looks amazing. *I don’t support wearing cheap contact lenses so if you want to wear them, don’t be cheap, it can be very dangerous.*

For the lips I really didn’t want to overpower the look and make it look completely fake, which sounds stupid as I’m a human snake with bright red hair, but, a simple dust of the Moondust palette and I think it’s perfect!

*Time for evil face*
