It appears that I’ve had a blogging break, without actually wanting, planning, or realising. November is always a busy month for me as it’s my birthday! I know that seems odd, the entire month is busy because of one day? But yes. I like to celebrate for the entire month! Diva indeed. I can’t actually remember when this started but I think it’s been a few years now, maybe 3/4 and I have no doubt that it’s because usually we’re at a family Christmas party. You’re probably reading this thinking I’ve messed my meds up, but my dad’s family always have a Christmas party on the last weekend of November. It’s a tradition that’s been going over 30 years. A tradition that for 22 years has normally landed on/around my birthday. Which means some birthdays I’ve spent tired, hungover, partying with family in Liverpool, or travelling to party with family.…

The Spa at The Midland Manchester is quite honestly the best spa I have ever been to. What you’re about to read is the most glowing review I will probably ever write…. The day started off absolutely terribly but as soon as we arrived into the very grand lobby at The Midland, we knew we were into a treat. Down the elevators and to the spa entrance, which immediately spelt of relaxation and the perfect ‘spa’ smell, you know the one, lavender galore. The entrance was very spa, dim lights, cool toned walls, plants, velvet seating area. It was ticking all of my boxes immediately. Within seconds of talking to the staff you realised it was one of those spas where everyone is just so lovely, I’ve heard of the ‘snobby’ spa therapists elsewhere but I’m yet to encounter one. We filled out our forms and headed into the rather…

One of my favourite places in Sheffield is the Mercure St Paul’s Hotel and Spa. We started going there after trying out a spa day offer and after falling in love with the place, I found another offer that blew us away for value. Since then Alfie and I have returned back to the Mercure every couple of months. Spas for me are essential, I’m a complete workaholic with a body that hates working, so getting to switch off is something I rarely do! Unfortunately our last stay didn’t go to plan as the lift to the spa wasn’t working and I can’t walk up and down stairs anymore without intense pain, therefore rendering a spa day absolutely pointless. Last weekend we finally got to revisit and it was probably one of our best stays to date. We were working with Mercure to promote their summer offer of #PicnicWithMercure which meant that…

Every since booking a spontaneous family holiday, my life has revolved around the holiday and looking/feeling the best on it. Which also includes holiday preparation! Mostly this year it’s been all about trying to make my legs look and feel as smooth as possible because I’m mostly going to be in swimwear. We have a pool and the beach is at the bottom of the road we’re staying on so life is going to be super hard. Being part mermaid means the water calls to me and so I’ve been using Fenjal Unique Cleansing and Moisturising Shower Oil 200ml at £5.49, as bath oil! I know, messy, but glorious. It means that my skin has a layer of moisture and that should last up to 8 hours. I have terribly fast hair growth and I don’t like being hairy so it’s taken all of my strength to stop shaving and wait to Nair.…

Probably one of my most relaxed and happiest moments was spent in a Sykes Cottage. They by far have some of the most luxurious and beautiful cottages I have ever seen and had the pleasure of staying in. Alfie and I spent 3 days in one of them, but we really wish it was longer. From hot tubs, to swimming pools, tennis courts or simply just the pure beauty of the countryside, you can have it all with the incredible selection and high quality cottages available all over the UK. For us we needed a cottage that we could get to via a train and that a food delivery service would deliver to, as we both don’t drive we couldn’t exactly risk being stranded without food for days on end. Within 10 minutes of being at our cottage we were in the jacuzzi, sipping champagne that the owners had left us.…
