Blogging is a blast when you spend over an hour writing a post, that you really like, for the browser to freeze and you lose the post completely. Ugh. Take two! I’ve been struggling a lot lately, it’s no secret. My chronic pain is constantly flaring up, I’m cancelling my life, forcing myself to go to the odd blogging event, and only really leaving the house when it’s an appointment to try and help my pain. Which means I’ve been seriously down, so in an attempt to cheer myself up I’ve been buying myself lots of pretty things. Not that it makes any sense to buy lots of makeup when you rarely go out to wear it, but at least when I do have the…

This post is called ‘hot or not’ but really it should be, ‘hot, mehs, and nots’ in the beauty world because not all of these are terrible, some just aren’t very good. If you’ve seen my face you’ll know that I love makeup, and I know how to apply it which is why I love reviewing makeup. Let’s get the negatives out of the way first with this jumbo Lola Duo Kajal & Eyeliner at £21. I’m not very good at sugarcoating so I’ll just say it, it’s unnecessary. If I wanted to apply my eyeliner with a severe lack of precision I’d dip my finger into a pot of black eyeliner and just smear it on. It’s incredibly difficult to get a decent look…

After getting onto the Rimmel London press list, I seem to have acquired every new launch in the past couple months. Rimmel isn’t really a brand that I tend to buy, I don’t even think I owned anything before these and after trying all the new launches out, it’s not really a brand I’m going to continue using either. I could have been a little less blunt, but I just really don’t rate the brand or any one of the new launches and here’s why. The Only 1 Matte Lipsticks – £6.99 These are described as ‘major matte’ but they’re actually anything but. It’s a super fragranced formula that applies very glossy and a little patchy meaning you need a good couple layers to ensure…

Up until now I’ve only had a couple brushes from Crownbrush in my collection and they’ve been my essential, everyday, and favourite brushes. But I’m so pleased that I’ve now got to try more because these have been my most used brushes for weeks now and I can positively say that I am completely hooked. It’s taken me a little while to write this as I don’t get ready as much as I used to thanks to chronic pain, and I wanted to see how the brushes were after being washed. It’s the ultimate test of a brush, how does it last with constant use and then how does it react to a good clean. Some brushes can and do shred after being washed but not…

For my final Halloween look of the year I teamed up with Kryolan to bring to you a Vintage Pin Up Pop Art look! Using the Pop Art Gal Kit and a couple other things from my own collection. This Kryolan kit contains every product that is needed to create this incredibly striking Halloween look. I decided not to do the exact look and instead I made it more vintage looking with my own hair curled and pinned with a Toni & Guy Halloween themed clip. I didn’t fancy trying to wash the coloured spray out of my hair for the next couple weeks, so using my own brightly coloured hair made a lot more sense.   The Kryolan kit contains: Pale Foundation 5 Aquacolours Yellow colour Spray…
