There’s a lot of built up anger around this topic for me, I don’t quite understand what has happened this year but I don’t like it. I’m clued up, I understand deadlines, bosses, targets and everything else that people will throw at me for writing this. But I do wonder if brands and PRs realise what’s happening on our side? I don’t want to write about 1 single item, most times I can’t as it doesn’t make the word count I want, it’s not interesting to my readers and it’s not interesting for me. If a brand can’t even say 300+ words on their product, why should I struggle? I do lots of roundup posts on here and then solo features where a product truly deserves it for being extra special and there’s lots to say about it. Products actually take time to review. I’m not the type of blogger…

My Top 50 Tips for Growing Your Blog and Social Media I’m a Freelance Social Media Manager and I actually got into my new career through building my own channels and blogging. Now I have several clients, consult businesses on their social media accounts and even train charities. I thought I would share everything I’ve picked up, know, and things I’ve found that really help to boost your views and social media channels. I will stress that all of these things take TIME, this isn’t a cheat sheet where it’ll work overnight, you’ve got to work at building your blog. I personally don’t do half of these because I’m busy with client work, but they can seriously build your readership, you just have to put the effort in! This is just a quick list as requested on Twitter, but I will be following up with a big series where I…

How scandalous! After a couple month’s with the so raved about Olympus Pen E-PL7, I’m still failing to see what’s so good about it? It’s a camera, it has wifi and it didn’t cost the earth. There’s tonnes of cameras that have those qualities, but why are people raving on about it so much? My personal experience with the E-PL7 has been very underwhelming. I initially wanted to compare this camera to my DSRL but there’s really no competition or many comparisons I can make, they’re completely different and my Canon 70D is beyond superior. However, I did ask if that’s what you all wanted to read and you said yes. So, is a DSLR worth investing in as a Blogger? We all know think that we need the best cameras to better our blogs and whilst I don’t think that’s entirely true, the Olympus is definitely not working as…

Bloggers working for exposure is something that is happening more and more and this is a post I’ve had floating in my head for a while now, it’s going to be long but I do have my very strong opinions that you can bet your bottom dollar I’m including. I’ve worked for exposure many times, so I’m talking from experience and I’ve asked the blogger community to also share their experiences so this can be as well balanced as possible. I’m not expecting everyone to understand what it means working for exposure, or why this is even a big enough thing to write a post on, so let me break everything down in my own words and to my own knowledge. Working for exposure means that you do actual work, whether it be writing a blog post, modelling, judging, presenting, photographing etc, in exchange for them promoting you and your…

With more and more people starting up blogs, gaining an audience and gaining brand attention, you’d think more people would be writing things like this to help others out. However, it appears instead, newer bloggers are seriously being taken advantage of and I’m not about to sit around and let that happen. Bloggers that have been doing this for some time now have probably got all the ridiculous emails of sponsored posts for £10 when they want 3 links, 500 words and 3 photos taken by you, but newer bloggers, might not know what to say to this. So, I am going to break it down as politely (well, that I’ll try) and bluntly as possible and try to cover everything. Obviously, the reason people start blogging isn’t always to work with companies, but if you are considering it, have been already, or are an experienced blogger that is confused…
