River Island Plus Size range has really gone from strength to strength. They consistently bring out pieces that everyone wants, their quality is just as good as their main range, and although it’s still a small collection, it’s definitely one that you need to keep checking on. I find myself constantly checking the website for new drops, trends, and always looking through the sale section as they really know how to have an incredible sale! There’s so many bargains on there that I had to remind myself I don’t leave the house enough to shop. I still have my eye on the mermaid sequin skirt though.
I was super excited to be trying out some new things, and so I thought I’d do a little day and night look post wearing River Island.
River Island Day Look
I’m skeptical and I really didn’t think this was going to be a good look on me. It looked quite short and I thought the colour would wash me out, but I was SO wrong. At £60 it’s incredibly high and comfortable material, it’s a crepe fabric, super lightweight, and very floaty. I’m not a fan of the splits on the arms, it kinda looks like I’ve burst out of it! But the floral embroidery makes up for it. There’s a lot of fabric on the waist but it means that it sits just above the knee, it isn’t a waistline that suits me or my figure but I still think it looks super cute! I’m actually wearing a 22 and it’s a really good fit, a tad roomy, but not enough to size down. Overall just a great fit.
(Alfie ‘ironed’ this, can you tell?)
River Island Night Look
Oh my god! I saw the kimono versions of this incredible embellishment mesh and I fell in love, but an actual maxi dress? Woah. I asked for a 22 in this too and I couldn’t believe how roomy it was, again not to size down comfortable, but just for a real great fit! I couldn’t get over the quality, comfort, and just overall glam of this dress! I would 110% say that it’s worth every penny, the sequin embellishments look amazing and they’re even better in person. It’s just such a beautiful dress and probably the best thing I’ve seen at River Island so far. If you can get your hands on something, you won’t regret it. Kimono, or maxi!
I’m excited to see what else River Island brings out, especially as we’re coming towards my favourite, colder, seasons!
