Removing Unwanted Hair with the Panasonic ES-WH90

Is it sad to be excited over reviewing an IPL Hair Removal Machine? Even if it is I really don’t mind as I’ve honestly wanted to try laser hair removal for absolutely YEARS now. As I don’t drive and I can’t do public transport thanks to chronic pain, it means that having weekly treatments at a salon would be incredibly costly with the treatment and added transport on top of that. I don’t even want to think how much it would have ended up costing me, which is why I’ve been thinking about a machine that I can use at home for years. But as you probably know, they’re incredibly expensive machines. So over the next few months, I’m going to be giving myself weekly treatments with the Panasonic ES-WH90, even my mum will be trying it out and probably Alfie too (as he hates being left out!) and we’ll let you know if it’s really worth your money. I have a good feeling about this already.

The Panasonic IPL Hair Removal System can be used on the face with a special adapter and all over the body making this a 2 in 1 device. It’s super easy to use, you simply have to charge it up for a couple hours, and then you have a hand-free device which is quick and simply to use. By simply pressing down lightly on the skin and moving it slowly along as if you were shaving, the light blasts your hair follicles. You will need to prep the skin beforehand and I would definitely recommend exfoliating and then shaving to achieve the best results.
Obviously everyone is different and it works slightly slower or quicker depending on your skin and hair colour, for example I’m incredibly pale with dark hairs, so I’ve been starting on level one but I will probably move up as my hairs are really dark. Not only do IPL devices remove hair but they also leave the skin looking brighter and more glowing. This device lasts for 600 flashes per charge meaning that you can definitely do a full body and surprisingly it’s very lightweight which my chronic pain (and lack of strength) loved!

I find that the light does leave my skin feeling a little warmer than usual, but it’s not uncomfortable or worrying at all. I’ve used the machine for two treatments now and as I have quite a lot of hairs (it sounds weird but I have a lot of places where 2 hairs grow in 1 place) so I haven’t noticed anything yet, but I will update you via Twitter along the way.

The Panasonic ES-WH90 retails for £349.

  • I can’t wait to hear how you get on with this – I’ve wanted to try one of these for ages. Just looked on the link you’ve put in your post, and although it’s a little on the pricey side – it’s a lot cheaper than I thought it would be!
