North West Blogger Meet up – Liverpool at The Button Boutique!

I was quite overwhelmed and honoured to be a guest speaker at the NW Blogger Meetup in Liverpool at The Button Boutique, earlier this month. Blogger events have only ever been something I have attended, however, seen as I basically do my blog full time now and due to recent achievement such as becoming the face of Scarlett & Jo, I was actually asked to speak at the event about ‘how to have successful blog’. I wouldn’t necessarily have suggested this topic myself, as I know there are far more qualified people to talk on the subject. However, being an average girl, from an average background, I guess I can give advice to the everyday person….

With my ridiculously sarcastic boyfriend, Alfie, being a blogger also, I decided to drag him along with me for a day out. We ended up having 3 or 4 coffees before the actually meetup at various establishments in Liverpool. We’re going back this weekend to do a proper Liverpool guide so I’ll be sure to write all about them! After seeing that I was going to Liverpool, Jemma from Dorkface popped up and I immediately asked her to meet up, and fortunately, later a spot cleared for the event and she got to come along too! Jemma is a blogger I have wanted to meet for literally forever now as she’s always so supportive and lovely. We headed off for obviously a coffee before the meetup and I must say, she’s probably one of the loveliest and friendliest people I have ever met. During my talk in front of everyone, Jemma continually made sure that I was at ease by giving me feedback and getting involved with the conversation, I wanted to hug her constantly for this. (Don’t worry, there’s a big post coming on what I spoke about soon, as requested!)

The event was held at the quirkiest little place called The Button Boutique, a little craft and workshop venue where you can get creative and have parties. It was probably the perfect venue for a blogger meetup as the entire place was photographable from just about every single angle and beautifully decorated from top to bottom. The event was run by Katie from Curvaceous Beauty and a wide range of bloggers came from all over the country. I was shocked to see how far people had travelled but I don’t blame them at all, it was an amazing event as a whole and definitely worth the trip – and I don’t say that about many events!

Companies such as Stella and Dot and Tropic were there with talks and products to display which all looked incredibly inviting. The Botton Boutique kindly put on tea and cake too and there was also a raffle where I won some products from Lilash! After already reviewing them I was incredibly happy to know I would be able to continue with my applications for even longer! As if all of this wasn’t enough, we also received a goodie bag and it was pretty amazing, containing:
A tote bag from The Blogger Programme
Jewellery from Magic Accessories
A Lego Minifigure broach from Jewell Emporium (with a 10% off code “GLITTER27″).
A goodie bag from Heaven Skin Care
A cake pop from The Dessert Counter
Jewellery from Magic Accessories
Jewellery from Stella and Dot
Stylfile – must admit I’m quite excited by this.
A brush from Nanshy
A cleanser and muslin cloth from Bee Good
A drink from Laimon Fresh
Perfume samples from Milton Lloyds
A cake pop from The Dessert Counter
The bloggers who attended have been so so kind in what they have wrote about my talk and have made fantastic posts on the event as a whole, I think I’ve linked to everyone’s posts if they’re out already!
Bloggers: Katie, Holly, Emma, Lorraine, Kayleigh, Jemma, Jenny, Steph, Divya, Laura, Susie, Sam, and Anca.

A big thank you to Kate for organising the event and for asking me to talk at it, it was so lovely meeting bloggers from in and around Liverpool and I’m already looking forward to seeing them at future events!(Group photo curtesy of Jemma!)
