You know when you find a new favourite outfit but you just can’t take a good enough photo that does it justice? Well, this has happened for two weeks now whilst I’ve tried to share my latest ‘dress to impress’ attire. There’s always that one piece in your wardrobe that you know you can make it work for any occasion. For me, it had been my new Newlook Inspire Black Lace Bustier Skater Dress*, at £24.99. I’m wearing a size 20, as I’ve always found Newlook’s sizing spot on and occasionally I can still fit into an 18! In the picture below I’m in Hyde park wearing the Black Soft Brushed Coat at £49.99 and Black Quilted Panel Twist Lock Satchel at £19.99, both from Newlook, with Evans Leggings, a Yours Clothing Belt and Yours Clothing Leopard Print Jacket.
Not only does the dress look beautiful, but it doesn’t even require ironing and it dries really quickly, making it an ideal dress to throw on, wash, and then throw on again. It has become one of my staple autumnal pieces that I can style with flats, heels, red or black jackets and my favourite of all, my Yours clothing leopard print jacket. This sleeveless skater dress has a slight sweet heart neck, that I find really emphasis my chest and it would do for a much bigger or smaller bust too. The sequins are probably the only ones I’ve ever known that don’t fall off constantly, however, without a jacket there’s a slight discomfort with my inner arms rubbing on the side of them. Obviously, it’s easily avoidable, but if you wanted to rock the dress alone, I’d reconsider.
As always with Newlook the quality is definitely worth the money, if not the quality is a little better and I’ve actually never worn a piece to the point of no return with Newlook. I’m also going to be heading into the inspire section at Newlook next week with Amy and Lucy, two other Meadowhall bloggers, so no doubt I’ll be writing about what we get up to!
Seen as I’ve basically tried out a little of every section this month, it was only right to review a pair of beautiful shoes too. These Wide Fit Navy Velvet T-Bar Block Heels* at £22.99 are absolutely heavenly. Heels and I are not good friend, we never have been and never will be. But unlike a normal heel, these t bone heels are a lot more supportive and although the make me cry after half an hour stood up, they’re still beautiful. If you’re used to heels and enjoy them, I cannot recommend the shoe enough. The amount of compliments they’ve received is unreal as they really are stunning. Dark red, velvet and actual wide foot, and more than wide enough for my fat little feet. They also come in black and navy blue, so I definitely think I need the black pair too!
Have you picked up anything from Newlook this Autumn?
