My Month in Bloggers!

These past few months I have had probably the busiest, stressful, achiest but most exciting couple of months to date. I have been to so many events lately, that I wanted to show you where I’ve been but at the same time, who I’ve been with and spread some love to those who have made such an impact on my life and those who need to be raved about because they’re simply awesome. Think of this as a ‘you’re stupid if you don’t know and follow these people’ post.

At IMATS I met probably one of the most inspiring people ever and I was lucky enough to get the chance to catch up with her in Soho this month! Nikki is incredible. She has been there and done it all when it comes to the beauty world as she’s a brand consultant and has worked with some seriously big names. After being in beauty for over 25 years, you can bet she knows her stuff and more. Nikki runs her own blog, where she shares her knowledge on the latest products and the beauty world, and she even has Taylor Made Beauty which is all about how flipping impressive she is. I can’t rave about her enough to be honest, and I’ve only met her twice!

Style XL

Style XL was last month and I caught up and met so many bloggers it was unreal, but as if I couldn’t give these certain babes a mention? Style XL is ran by the incredible Leah of Leah XL, who absolutely nails whatever she puts her mind to. I have a lot of love for Leah as she’s amazingly supportive and puts on an amazing event.
Style XL was the event where I may have forced Hayley from Curves & Curls to get on the Catwalk for Scarlett & Jo, and although she didn’t like the thought, she looked incredible and as if she was a professional!
I also met Kat from Murder of Goths properly, and after she called me the ‘inspiration’ behind her drawing the PS Blogger community, I couldn’t stop hugging her! Kat is one of the most friendliest, kindest and greatest people ever to talk to about anything. She even brought along photos of her drawings for everyone and was the little star that she is. I also met up with her on my recent trip to London where she brought along her designs on a bag from RedBubble! It’s absolutely incredible and now I have one of the way too! (If you want one, use code: RNTXTW for a mystery discount.) I cannot recommend her artwork enough, or following or being friends with her.

Style XL 2015

Style XL is also where my Dad had a little fan girl over the most inspirational person in the PS Community, Debz from Wannabe Princess. My Mum and Dad came along to the event, and pretty much know everyone from meeting them before, or reading their Twitter’s and blogs. Both my parent’s listened to Debz on the radio as she is the magnificent woman behind We Are The They, the hashtag that said NO to body shaming and went viral. Debz is incredible and encouraged women to love themselves, whatever their size, and that’s why I have so much love for her.
Pretty much on a daily basis I talk to so many PS Bloggers on our little whatsapp group, so it was amazing to see so many in person and get to chat properly, and in one case, build a bridge of friendship and take a selfie with Kathryn from Miss Kathryn’s Misstakes! I even bonded with Becky from Does my Blog Make Me Look Fat? and Tanya from Secret Plus Size Goddess over rubbish hotel rooms and how many amazing dresses they brought with them!

Boohoo Blogger Breakfast

At the breakfast we were fed an array of food, and got to preview the AW15 collection, which is flipping beautiful! I got to hang out with the pageant winner herself Kat of Henrys Kat and try on her crown which she nearly didn’t get back, and then we decided to have a laugh and try one some size 14/16 samples. I also finally met Hanna of Hanna Wears, a bit of a blogging legend to me, which she laughed at and hung out more with her a couple days later too. To say we’ve not met before, I felt super comfortable and really enjoyed spending time with her!
I also took Lucie from Fat Beauty back to our hotel and she was amazing company whilst I rested and beautified myself back up from a sweaty London morning, it was a pleasant surprise that she was free, especially so that Alfie could wonder off without having to babysit me and we could have a proper girly, blogger chat. The lovely Lottie soon joined from Lottie L’amour whilst we finished reapplying and we all headed off to the Pocket Wardrobe Event!

A fab little app that is aimed at Plus Size women being virtually styled by professionals! They invited some PS bloggers along to afternoon tea. Right now they’re only available on Apple products, but it will be rolling out to android eventually. Here I continued to spend time with Lottie, Lucie and also caught up with some other babes, whilst we talked all things Plus. I love events like this and things get really topical, so it’s so interesting to hear others agree or disagree with you and why. The lovely lady who is running The Curve Festival was there, Becky from Mrs BeBe Blog, Rivkie from Slink, and Hollie from Pretty Big Butterflies (I don’t think I missed anyone?)

And finally, I’ve seen Mayah quite a few times recently and she’s an absolutely babe to be around. Not only can you moan about life to her, talk fashion, business, and all things blogging, but you just feel so comfortable doing so. Mayah is beyond stunning and blogs over at Beautyful Youniverse, you should definitely check her out.

Think Money Summer BBQ Event

A full post is coming up on this event this week, but for the Think Money event, I had to pick a list of local bloggers that I have never met before (of once/briefly) to hang out with for the day! We were in a roof top enclosure having a BBQ, making cupcakes and getting a little tipsy (well, Jemma drank the bar dry ;)) It was such an amazing day as I got to hang out with Jemma, who is one of my all time favourite people, she blogs at Dork Face. Simone and Carl from Married to a Geek and A Bloke’s Eye VIEW (not review, as I thought it was!) also kindly accepted my invitation and it was amazing getting to spend more time with Simone and meeting Carl for the first time. Him and Alfie had a man bonding session as it was Alfie’s first event as a blogger too!
After months of wanting to, I finally got to meet Caitlin from Through the Mirror too, and despite how shy she made out she would be, I have honestly never laughed so much at an event before. Her and Jemma are hysterical and I already cannot wait to see them again.
I also got to cross of the beyond beautiful Anouskha (Anouskha Loves) my list of bloggers I want to meet, she was beyond funny and had to put up next to Alfie all day!

Well, like I said it’s been a busy couple of months, but I’ve definitely had fun! I do hope you spend the time to check out some of these amazing people, and I do hope I get to hang out with them all again very, very soon.
