Starting out I must say that Crabtree and Evelyn in Meadowhall have the most WONDERFUL staff ever, seriously they’re so friendly and instantly make you feel comfortable. Charley from Rambling of a Beauty Blogger and I had a spontaneous shopping trip when she came to meet me the other week in meadowhall and I just HAD to go in and see Net, who I met at Meadowhall’s Ladies Night as she was amazing. Charley and I went in just expecting to look around and smell things, but we were soon offered a hand pamper and talked through basically the entire shop! I purchased the Lavender Linen Mist, £12, for my Mum as I thought she’d really love it, but it’s definitely been one that we’ve shared (aka I took it back to ‘borrow’). We were also given a little hand cream each, I choose the Pomegranate Hand Therapy* as it smells beautiful. If you haven’t been into Crabtree and Evelyn, get to one as soon as possible!
There’s been a lot of food on the blog this month and in my house, including these Exante Diet* packets of food, so far I’ve tried their Banana Milkshake which was bursting of flavours and their Rice Risotto. To cook the packets you simply add water, or add water and then pop in the microwave. They’re quick and easy but have a lot of protein, fibre, minerals and vitamins in them. Some are even suited for Vegetarians and Vegans! I’m looking forward to trying the other two packets I have which are Blueberry and Raspberry pancakes and Spaghetti Bolognese. They diet plan starts from as little as £3.91 a day and these packets were only a couple pounds each!
Ambiance Red Dry Shampoo, £14.99* from Beauty Expert is absolute perfection, which is not something I often say about products. I now completely understand why Blonde’s love dry shampoo so much as I have been disguising my roots for weeks with this little saviour. It’s a dark red colour that when blended in gives volume, colour and life to the hair. I am going to be doing a full length review, but I just had to include it as I’m nearly at the end of one already! Thankfully, it does come with one free refill.
MAC Mineralise Skin Finish, £22, has not left my bag all month, I love it for contouring and topping up my jawline during my breaks at work. It’s the perfect colour for pale skin, but it does have a slight orange tint to it, nothing that has become too noticeable but definitely something to be wary of.
I’ve also been loving this beautiful summer shade which is Rita Ora’s Collection at Rimmel London* called Breakfast in Bed, £3.69, from The Hut. I don’t often wear pastels so it’s been a welcomed change. I’ve always loved how big the brushes on Rimmel’s nail varnishes are as it takes seconds to paint your nails. I definitely think you need a white base coat, or two coats to get the full potential of this colour though.
This little gem from Smashbox has recently been on my favourite Primers for Oily Skin post and it’s back again as I have used the Smashbox Eye Shadow Primer, £18, every single day and without even a glimpse at failure, it has lived up to more than I could ever expect. It’s the perfect eye primer for lasting wear and I’m so happy that I bought it. I’m definitely going to be adding more Smashbox to my collection as I haven’t stopped being impressed by them.
Finally, a special mention to my new favourite handbag from Voodoo Vixen, I recently created a Voodoo Vixen Vintage look with this and it’s soon become my new everyday bag. It’s the Hudson, £24.99, and is very spacious with an inner pocket, the hands are just long enough to be able to pop it on your shoulder too which I love. It’s a black and white pattern which means it goes with pretty much any outfit. I’m going to be working with Voodoo Vixen again when they bring out plus sizes of their beautiful dresses!
What do you think of my favourites this month?
