As a beauty blogger it is super rare that I am ever impressed with everything I’m trying out, but the haircare I’ve been using lately has just really been that impressive. I don’t wash my hair everyday anymore as with chronic pain, I’ve only been leaving the house once or twice a week for a few months now. Obviously that helps to keep my hair in great condition but combined with awesome haircare, and I really do have beautiful, healthy hair. It’s a welcomed change from my wash, dry, and curl everyday as well as fortnightly dyes!
One brand that has really blown my mind is Curlformers. I have seen them across social media for months now but being the skeptical person that I am, I thought that they surely can’t be THAT good and effective? But they seriously are. In fact, after one use I was shouting from the roof tops about them. I won’t lie to you, it’s a lengthy process that overtime will get quicker and easier, but your first time can be a little difficult. I only left them in for a few hours my first time, and on slightly damp hair, which means I didn’t see the full effects of sleeping in them overnight but still, my hair looked absolutely glorious. As if I had had the best curly blow of my life. My hair was bouncy because of the structure and texture of the Curlformers and the way they separate the hair to dry and brush it out upon taking them out. The curls were defined, my hair wasn’t frizzy, and all I needed to do for the curls to look even better was to curl them with my hairs as I took the Curlformers out! So quick, easy, and incredible results. I 110% recommend them. I picked the spiral set (£49.95) as I wanted my curls to be quite tight.
I basically have loved every single product I’ve tried from Sexy Hair, especially the Big range and the colour protect products. I am so utterly impressed with this range that there have been multiple fights between Alfie and I over the best hairspray either of us have ever tried. The Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Volumizing Hairspray (£14.95). It is by far the most impressive hairspray I’ve ever used, it’s fast drying with an incredible hold and it even helps protect against UV rays.
I always use colour safe products in between of dyes and the Color Safe Volumizing Shampoo (around £12) and Color Safe Volumizing Conditioner (around £12) were an absolute delight. The give weightless moisture whilst keeping your colour safe. I love using these when I’m going out as it really helps to give body to my hair and I find that it styles easier!
Faith In Nature
I will always and forever love Lavender so I was super pleased to receive a bundle of lavender products from Faith in Nature. Although the shampoo and conditioner aren’t the best on coloured hair, they are indeed beautiful and whilst I was bleaching my hair lighter, they helped to give me beautiful soft hair that smelt and felt amazing. Especially as I was also bathing in their showergel/foam bath. Absolute heaven and so beyond relaxing. Finishing off with the body lotion and hand cream just meant that you fell into a lavender induced sleep. A super natural brand with lovely and incredibly affordable products! Prices and links are below.
Lavender Hand Cream (50ml £6.39)
Lavender & Geranium Conditioner (400ml £5.50)
Lavender & Geranium Shampoo (400ml £5.50)
Lavender Body Lotion (150ml £6.25)
Lavender & Geranium Shower Gel & Foam Bath (400ml £5.60)
The most impressive hair masks I’ve ever tried have now both contained Marula Oil! This is such a beautiful hair mask that really deeply conditions your hair, whilst improving the immediate look and feel. The Marula Deep Moisture Hair Mask (177ml £24) is a tad pricey for my usual liking but after trying it and feeling the wonderful results in less than 10 minutes, it’s worth it. You can either just use it on your ends, all over, or from your scalp right to the ends, it’s completely up to you! I tend to leave this on for as long as I can, I’ve always done it with hair masks. I even sleep in some overnight! Not only does this hair mask moisturise and hydrate, but it also has ColorDefend™ Technology to protect your hair colour, perfect for my red locks!
Finally, my hair would not be where it is without my handy Tangle Teezers, my latest one is this customised pink and purple one. Tangle Teezers can be used on wet and dry hair, they’re super lightweight, easily transported and super handy to have a couple around the house! Alfie even styles his hair with one.
