IMATS London 2015

For those of you who don’t know, I’m a Freelance Social Media Manager, which means I run Social Media accounts for several different companies. Recently I landed one of my dream clients, Makeup Atelier Paris and it just so happened to come with the best perk ever, passes for IMATS! For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved makeup and most importantly, the more unusual makeup that you can’t wear on a daily basis, which is why I really go hard on Halloween. IMATS for me has been something that I’ve wanted to go to for years, I wanted to see the techniques people used and get my hands on the stuff they used too. We ended up going late Saturday as we only thought we’d have a little look around, get the feel for it and get on with our weekend….

A couple hours walking around IMATS and we didn’t want it to end! Everyone commented on how much Alfie looked like he was absolutely loving it, and the truth is, he really was. It’s amazing to see such incredible artists work, how they work and how the creations start and turn out. We even ended up going back the next day to get our shop on and watch more demons. I cannot thank Makeup Atelier Paris enough for the amazing opportunity and so, I wanted to share my favourite photos and moments of the day.

This post cannot go on a second longer without mentioning Nanshy. I didn’t talk to too many brands on the day as everyone was super busy and even though they had one of the best and busiest stands, both Nikki Taylor and the actual owner, Damien, took the time out to chat. I am absolutely amazing by Nikki, a couple minutes into finding out about her career and what she does meant she instantly became an incredible inspirational person, that I could honestly listen and talk to for days. Nanshy’s Social Media has always impressed me (which is down to Damien), it’s on point and more often than not in the UK, people mistreat their channels and don’t utilise them. It was amazing to see Nanshy’s stand, their tweets and the sheer effort they went to to ensure everything was perfect and well documented, hats off. Plus, I use their brushes on a daily basis so I’m a big fan of everything to do with them.
I also finally met Chubby Cheesecake at the Nanshy stand which was amazing. I love bumping into fellow bloggers and I even saw The Curvy Kitty and Makeup Artist Hayley Fell to name but a few!

The demonstrations at IMATS are also on a whole other level. We couldn’t believe our eyes as the transformations from when we first entered, to when we were leaving were absolutely incredible. I’ve added photos of my favourites, including from my wonderful clients, Makeup Atelier Paris and the art director Vincent de Monfreid’s work. Heavily photographed by many over the weekend was their Queen of Dragons and Mermaid type creature looks, I don’t blame people as I couldn’t stop staring either. Other favourites include…..

There were tonnes of incredible people walking around at IMATS but these were my absolute favourites of them all, if you do by chance know who these are by (I was too excited to find out), I will happily link to them, so please do let me know. I did end up buying quite a bit from IMATS but not half as much as I actually wanted, the discounts were amazing and I managed to get a few pro cards for the next year which I’m rather happy about. I even headed off to Sugarpill Cosmetics to grab some glitter and met the incredibly loved, Shrinkle! I recognised her from somewhere on the Internet and went back the next day for a snap!

If I do end up loving my purchases from IMATS, you will definitely see them on the blog. I will definitely be back at IMATS next year, I wouldn’t miss it for the World!

Did you go to IMATS? What did you pick up?

– Tickets are a work perk but it doesn’t mean I have to say nice things about them or even mention them, I just love my job.
