I Tried a Selection from My Vitamins!

I don’t know what it is about taking vitamins that makes me feel like such a ‘together’ person. I love the idea of taking extra supplements to make my insides even happier and healthier, so I jumped at the chance to try an array of vitamins to see what they did. I can’t say I’ve taken them every single day, as I will rarely take tablets even if I’m in severe pain. Not because I’m a totally stubborn and lazy person, but because I sometimes find them a little discomforting to swallow, so I won’t bother.
My Vitamins
After trying my best with 3 different types of Vitamins, I can see myself definitely continuing to take them in the months/years to come. My favourites have to be the Total Cod Liver Oil (Omega 3 Oil with vitamins A and D) at £2.49 for 60 capsules. My Nan actually used to take these and she was a very fit and healthy older lady, obviously until Alzheimer’s hit but vitamins can’t prevent everything… However, what Cod Liver Oil does do is help the maintenance of a normal functioning heart and keep blood pressure at a normal level too. They can also help keep calcium levels strong for healthy bones and contribute to good maintenance of vision, skin and the immune system.

Essential Zinc & Magnesium at £4.49 for 60 capsules is another vitamin I have been taking. These are quite needed as it can be difficult to get the normal recommended amount in a diet alone, which means these can be taken for a healthy boost. Magnesium helps the metabolism, energy levels to reduce fatigue and functions of muscles. The tiredness and muscle function are definitely two things I need a boost with. Zinc is also a key part needed to help fertility, reproduction and the immune system.
Lastly, I have been taking Essential Vitamin B Complex at £5.49 for 60 capsules. Usually found in whole grains, fruits, vegetables and meats, vitamin B is a very important vitamin that we should have more of. As well as helping with metabolism, the immune system, and reducing tiredness, they are also amazing for the skin’s complexion. However, as Vitamin B is water soluble, it means that the body cannot store it so a regular dose can be really beneficial.
As my achy body makes me super tired and constantly drained, this combination of vitamins is definitely something I need to add to my daily schedule and be more strict about taking. Have you tried My Vitamins?

  • I’ve started to taking vitamins on a daily basis (well I try) and I do think they’ve made a difference in my general self! I take Omega 3 and Iron because of my diet, and then Vitamin C, and some tablets for hair, nails and skin. Really interesting post to read x

I always take a multi-vit but vitamin B complex is definitely one I would like to add! Also looking at supplementing probiotics as they keep your gut really healthy 🙂

  • Personally I love the feeling of taking vitamins. I think it’s just a great way to start your day even if it’s all a mental thing. Unfortunately, I recently had an adverse reaction to some B12 supplements that were creating calcium deposits on my neck, so please be careful!
