House of Fraser, Studio 8 Sandrine Maxi Dress
I finally got my hands on another Studio 8 Dress, the plus brand from Phase Eight, if you didn’t know! It’s definitely been over a year since I wore one of their dresses, which you can read here, so I was really excited to get another. This is from House of Fraser and it’s the Studio 8 Sandrine Maxi Dress at £55 reduced from £110, which is quite the saving!
It was definitely love at first sight, when I arrived back from holiday and saw this dress waiting for me, my reaction was ‘wow!’ However, when I tried it on I realised it wasn’t as ‘wow’ on me as I would have liked. I’ve heard that Studio 8 are true to size so I thought I’d be OK with a 20, but I definitely could have done with a 22. It just feels a little tight, there’s a visible belly line which I don’t mind, but I just wasn’t expecting it with the style of this dress. The neckline is tight and a bit frumpy looking on me too…
I know the brand is aimed for an older audience, but I’m sure an older audience like a cleavage as much as I do!? I do love the twist detail on the bust, but it’s just not right on me at all. It’s incredible quality and it is actually dry clean only which is a bit of a headache but at least you know and definitely expect that it’ll last and keep it’s seamless quality. It does have a zip fastening too, but I never use them! I feel like I look good in it, but it’s definitely not something I’ll wear out.
House of Fraser stock quite a few plus size brands, usually of a higher price tag with a higher quality so it’s well worth a look.
