Despite absolutely loving my food, burgers have never been my favourite thing to eat. That was until one night my friend, Ryan, suggest we headed off to our nearest Handmade Burger Co to try out their latest offer of buy one burger and get one for just £1! I thought it was crazy to turn that down so we headed off to Valley Centertainment near Meadowhall. We received an incredibly friendly welcome and were soon shown to our seats where the waiter would have told us how to order, but Ryan had been before so he filled me in instead. I was a little confused as to why no one was coming to take our order, but I soon realised it is because the restaurant is self order/help yourself to a refillable drink. Which I much prefer as you don’t have to worry about getting the attention of busy waiters/waitresses. When our burgers arrived it was love at first sight and since that first visit we have been back a couple times on our own, and then we decided to take my parent’s for a treat. Well on arriving the waiter had us all laughing at the door whilst we decided what kind of table we wanted, we then headed over where he took our drinks order and promptly brought them. One thing my parent’s do not like is waiting for drinks…We then looked through the impressive list of burgers with just about everything on. Ryan and I were now little experts on what we loved to order so we were sorted from the go. After consulting with the waiter for his advice, my Dad settled for a Beef Burger with Blue Cheese and Bacon, my Mum had a Chicken Burger and Chorizo, whilst I went for a Chicken Hawaiian Burger and finally Ryan went for his usual Chicken Cheese Classic. But you’re probably wondering what the big fuss is about? Well, feast your eyes on this…
That, right there, ladies and gentlemen, is a burger. We of course ordered some chips for the side which included pain, and spicy which are absolutely delicious. They’re the perfect sized chips which aren’t dry, tastless or too thin like you can often find in restaurants. Instead it tastes as if they same amount of effort goes into every little part of the meal. The burgers are dressed with salad and thick slightly toasted buns that don’t fall apart easily. The chicken burger was thick and perfectly cooked with the tomatoes and pineapple being slightly grilled to add texture. Every time we have been to Handmade Burger Co, the service is fast and the food is out of this world. For 4 burgers and two portions of chips the meal came to literally £26 (not including drinks), which is obviously amazing for a family of four! We’re making it a regular treat and therefore we picked up a loyalty card where the rewards are 3 stamps for a free drink, 6 stamps for a free side and 10 stamps for a free burger! I can see us easily reaching that burger….
My Dad wanted to pose….
We were all incredibly happy with the amazing customer service, the standard of food and the venue in general which is absolutely beautifully decorated. The staff are so lovely and friendly, with a relaxed chilled out atmosphere, I cannot recommend this particular restaurant enough.
Have you been to Handmade Burger Co before? What did you think?
