With anything else beauty wise I always prefer cheaper products, I’ve always managed to find cheaper versions of products that work better but never with perfume. With perfume, and excuse my language, I am a luxury bitch. I wasn’t always this way, a bottle of Ghost Midnight for £20 and I’m still happy but over the last few years I’ve caught the scent (quite literally) of the higher end world of perfumes and I am hooked. It all started with YSL Black Opium, which is still a firm favourite, and it’s progressed to the ridiculous expense of Marc Jacobs Decadence, which in my eyes is now worth every penny. Along the way I’ve tried many fragrances but I always go back to the same group of smells, including Gucci. I’m so pleased I got to try out the new Gucci Guilty Platinum.
The new Gucci Guilty Platinum (50ml at £54) is a limited edition version which is inspired by Alessandro Michele’s romantic and urban universe. I absolutely adore the bottles for GG, this platinum hued metal bottle with glass windows is eye catching on a shelf or dressing table. With notes of lemon, lavender, neroli, orange blossom, and cedarwood, it’s got everything I love in it but with lemon, so I was worried that I wouldn’t end up liking the finished scent after it settled. Thankfully I was wrong!
It’s a very sophisticated smell, my favourite! The lemon does give it quite a strong, lively kick, so I definitely think it’s more of a deeper nighttime fragrance as opposed to something lighter that you’d wear during the day.
