I am normally on George at Asda‘s website 3-4 times a week because I know the clothes are amazing quality, a great fit and really affordable. I just wish they did more discount codes or at least free delivery for all my orders! This dress actually came with a bundle of Summer clothes from George for a post and because I now refuse to take rubbish photos, I had to wait until Alfie and his camera (aka fancy pants camera) were free to shoot the photos for me. I’d like to think it was worth the wait, but I’ll let you decide…..
George at Asda actually put this dress on their website many moons ago, we are talking a good couple months and it was in green as well, which was beautiful. At the time I was tagged on Twitter saying how much I needed this dress, I agreed but was too poor at the time to buy it. I really regret waiting so long and not grabbing this and the green one earlier. I now believe they are both sold out, but Asda do normally restock or bring things/similar things back. It was £30 originally and then came down to £15 which is an absolute bargain.
I seem to be a 20 across the board now which makes shopping ridiculously easy. Being between sizes is ever so annoying, one bad judgement and there’ are baggy waists and gaping necklines, so I am quite pleased to have been so lucky with clothes lately. I won’t pretend this is the most perfect dress ever, Alfie has just took rather amazing photos. The dress is actually a tad too high and for me, I do feel a tiny bit frumpy in it. Of course, not everyone will, but I’m 20, I like my boobs and I like to show them. There’s no shame in that. If this dress was around 2 inches longer, I’d definitely wear it out without leggings, but as I’m 5’3 and it’s above my knee, one gust of wind and I wouldn’t be smiling.
It has quite a low down waist which meant I definitely needed to belt it to define mine, but ideally, a slightly bigger and better belt would look far superior. It’s a slightly odd design as it has quite long arms and a long torso, which looks to be designed for a taller person, yet it’s borderline short on me? Obviously I still absolutely love it though as it’s blue, and blue seems to be my thing this year, and it’s lace. As the ‘Queen of Lace’ named by Scarlett & Jo, lace will always be my thing and I’m always drawn to it.
Alfie’s dog, Len, decided to get in on the action, but he’s not one for posing….
