I don’t think I have ever owned a book that has made me feel so inspired and creative. One Woman 100 Faces*, a book all about the outstanding makeup artist, Francesca Tolot, is a book not to be missed. Whether you’re a pro, a beginner, or just interested in makeup, this book is truly breathtaking. When you’re a makeup artist, or just into makeup, you start to wonder about the artists behind our favourite magazine covers, celebrities, film characters and how they create such flawless and unforgettable looks. Francesca Tolot is not only Beyonce’s Makeup artist, but she has also worked her magic on Liz Taylor, Madonna and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Her work has been seen across publication after publication and each time, you can’t help but stop and stare at her beautiful work. For the first time, Francesca is sharing her stunning looks in her new book was Published in hardback by Goodman, on the 11th of September and is just £30. The book shows her incredible work across a period of two decades with the gorgeous model Mitzi Martin and beyond talented photographer Alberto Tolot, it shows the inspiration, art and the passion that has gone into all of her creations. Here are a couple of my favourites…..
I don’t want to share too many, as it’d spoil the book but the makeup inside is truly out of this world, these images inparticular made me not want to turn over the page. There’s everything from magazine covers, to more fantasy and daring creations and the inspiration behind some. At the front of the book there is even an interview with the fabulous Francesca Tolot herself on why she became a makeup artist, what inspires her and if her ideas evolved as she worked. I found the interview absolutely amazing to read as Francesca is such an interesting and creative person that I’m sure a lot of budding makeup artists inspire to be. The photography of all of the photos is breathtaking and makes you appreciate the makeup artistry behind the creations even more.
One Woman 100 Faces has definitely inspired me to be more creative. I now just want to mix different textures and get all my colours out to play with and make something myself. With Halloween just around the corner it is the perfect book to release, as it’s practically oozing inspiration. I was over the moon to be given this book to review and it’s definitely going to be one of my favourite books for years to come. I honestly cannot recommend this book enough.
