At the beginning of this month I was fortunate enough to be asked to work at Fruition Hair and Nail Demonstration night (which I am yet to write up about but do go and read Amy’s and Faye’s posts on the night), this meant that I was having my own stall to brand myself as an Makeup Artist and to showcase what I can do. Obviously, after only ever doing makeup on myself and little others, panic set in and I immediately turned to my Lushies to ask for their faces for some last minute practice. Natalie jumped at the chance and after an afternoon of playing around with different looks, I was finally completely at ease and happier than ever with my work. Natalie has a beautiful face to work with so I thoroughly enjoyed every second. We started off with a more dramatic look before heading into everyday territory (but you’ll see those in future posts).
We started off this look with a full Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise routine using Lush’s Ultrabland, Lush’s Eau Roma Water Toner, and DR PawPaw’s Multipurpose Soothing Balm as Natalie had a little burnt skin around her nose and cheeks. DR PawPaw is perfect underneath makeup on slightly dryer skin as it works as a moisturising base yet as the same time the sticky texture allows makeup to stay put for longer.
For the Face I used Illamasqua Skinbase 3 mixed with a little 14, with a little Collection Concealer in 2 and 1 where needed. Afterwards it was set with NYX HD Powder (which DOES flashback with flash photography).
On the Cheeks MAC Mineralise Skin Finish in Medium was used to contour, with Crownbrush Blush Palette and MUA Undress me Highlighter.
For the eyes I finally got to use Anastasia Brow Pomade on someone other than myself, Natalie’s eyebrows are beautiful and this really helped to enhance them.
I then used Smashbox’s 24 Hour Eyelid Primer with Makeup Revolution Iconic 2 on top.
Envyderm’s Eyeliner was then used to create a dramatic flick and smoked out at the front using the gold eyeshadow.
Natalie had some eyelash extensions on that were due to come off, so instead of messing around with them too much (although we did try), we added a little Envyderm Mascara just to bring them back to life. We also added this to the bottom lashes just to give them a little pop.
Finally on the lips we used Envyderm’s Lip Renewal Therapy to soften the lips and give them a little boost, with MAC Diva on top followed by my absolute favourite, Envyderm Lip Plumping Lipgloss Rose Bleu which is a reddy purple colour.
Although Natalie had the perfect size lips for any look, Envyderm Cosmetics really helped to give them just a little extra plump and helped to define her lip shape even further.
What do you think to this makeover and what would you like to see next?
