Disney x Mac Event

Having recently had the words ‘Disney event’ in my inbox and squealing with excitement, you can only imagine my reactions to ‘MAC and Disney event.’ Needless to say I was immediately excited and booking my train. London events always kill my bank balance but seen as my chronic pain has been playing up so much, I couldn’t resist making a special exception.

Disney Theatrical Productions and MAC Cosmetics teamed up as MAC are the Official Makeup Partner at The Lion King and Aladdin, and it was quite the event! It started off with a talk in the Prince Edward Theatre before heading to the main stage. This theatre is absolutely stunning and it was so amazing to see it empty so we could really appreciate its beauty. The stage was laid out in a very clever way so that we could make our way around and see MAC Senior Artists recreate the iconic Disney looks, as well as demonstrations on how to make these look into everyday ones.

I usually take my mum to events to help with my back and carry anything for me, but she’s been having really bad dizzy spells lately so it was more like the blind leading the blind. Everyone from the PRs to the Theatre stage staff were so accommodating and caring though, and we were so grateful. The second part of the day included lunch at Polpo at Ape & Bird, which was delicious, before heading off to our chosen show.

Mum really wanted to see The Lion King but I would have been happy with either. The Lion King was absolutely breathtaking and more magical than I ever imagined. I’ve only ever seen The Phantom of The Opera and Les Miserables at the West End and they were fantastic, Les Mis really impressed me with the stage work, as silly as it sounds I didn’t realise that they did such things. But The Lion King was seriously next level. We were sat in the Royal Circle with an incredible view. The vocals, the way they brought the animals to life, the stagework, it was all just so flipping magical and out of this world. I’d definitely go and see it again! I also got to take home an awesome goodie bag which hopefully I’ll be using to create a couple looks soon.

To say it was the first event like that they had put together like that, it was utterly amazing and we loved every minute. Thanks so much for having us!
