Last month I got an invitation to go to Chic Networking’s Fashion event being held at the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool, I immediately confirmed a place but only found someone to go with the day before. Fortunately, Alexandra from Alexandra Elizabeth Beauty and I decided to meet up and go to the event together, which meant we were both incredibly excited. It’s the second event I’ve been to, with the first being the House of Fraser’s House of Fashion event (I didn’t post about it as my photos were hideous), so I was a little unsure of what to expect. As we walked in we were greeted with a team of helpers who took our names and we proceeded up the fairy lit stairs.
When we first walked in, it wasn’t what either of us expected. There was a long bar with stalls everywhere ranging from beauty, hair, clothes, jewellery, food and even sweets. The amount and range of stalls was incredible. I didn’t know many brands there as a few were based in Liverpool but I I did recognise Arbonne and Peaches & Cream. The fashion show started around an hour after we arrived giving us chance to have a good luck around and try a free drink. Unfortunately we didn’t know the seats were on a first come, first served basis which meant after we headed back into the room we couldn’t see the catwalk at all. Fortunately, Alex is taller than me and managed to get some amazing shots of the clothes.
During the break we managed to find some other bloggers and went to have a little talk from Arbonne, who were kind enough to give us a talk on the products and company, as well as some samples to take home and try. The lovely ladies from The White Rooms also were very helpful and ended up giving us a sample of Young Blood Mineral Foundation and GlamGlow. I had never heard of it before so I was rather excited to try it out (both reviews coming to the blog soon). I also picked up some lashes from Peaches & Cream, I could have easily spent more but I wanted to control myself and not impulse buy.
We didn’t manage to see the end part of the show properly as we were talking to stalls, taking pictures and just generally enjoying ourselves. Alexandra and I ended up staying for the raffle where I actually won a Natasha Couture top, unfortunately it is a size 8 and despite joking about wearing it as a necklace, I’m not quite sure what to do with it. We then headed off to Wetherspoons for cocktails and chicken for a great end a fantastic day. The only downside of the event were the goodie bags, which were leaflets and sweets (which is was a fashion event so I can’t really complain), and seating. But if I ever go to a ChicNetworking event again, I’ll know to quickly grab a good seat and guard it!
I’d definitely recommend going to a ChicNetworking event, even though I’m more beauty orientated or Plus Size Fashion there was still enough variety to keep my interest and I was really impressed with how they got in touch to see how I personally found it. Small touches like that make a big impression.
I really want to go to as many events as possible this year, I love meeting other bloggers as they’re always so friendly! In the photo above there’s Alexandra from AlexandraElizabethBeauty, Beth from BethanyWorrall and Erin from ErinLouiseHunt.
