Chi Chi London goes Plus Size!

It’s exciting news when a brand decide to branch out and launch a plus size collection and Chi Chi London have timed it beautifully with the upcoming Summer events such as weddings and proms. Chi Chi London are well known for their stunning collection of dresses that are exclusively made in house in London and are all limited edition meaning you’ll never see too many around. I was recently asked to review their new plus size range, which is only on a few selected dresses up to an 18, and then two dresses up to the size 24. I decided to size up on this Lace Sleeveless Chi Chi Dolly Dress and got a 22, which was surprisingly roomy, yet supportive.

The size 22 dress was all elastic at the back meaning it felt really snug, but could easily fit an actual 22 or even small 24. It had inner padding on the chest, which for once, wasn’t smaller than my actual boobs (round of applause for Chi Chi) this meant that I could actually wear it without a bra and not have to worry about a thing! The Chi Chi Dolly dress is a low V neck, but it’s the perfect height to cover up even the ‘wrong’ bras for this dress (balcony/anything too full on) which was an added comfort as I know I’m not alone with throwing on any bra when I’m in a rush. It had a built in petticoat which made me want to ‘swish’ it constantly like a ‘princess’ or ‘Tinkerbell’. I’m definitely going to get my long blonde Annabelle’s Wigs on with this, it’ll look amazing.  The petticoat did make me look bigger than I am, however, I was too busy swishing my dress around to care, and I’m sure anybody else who wore this dress would be the same. Having my arms out is something that normally I’m a little insecure about, however I felt really comfortable and assured that my arms weren’t bulging out of the arms as it was reasonably roomy.

It’s beautiful expensive feeling material that is light weight and breezy for Summer. I decided to dress as a Summer Wedding Guest, but at night. Therefore I opted for my Evans Leggings, Yours Clothing belt and Dorothy Perkins boots, I don’t believe that strapped Summer sandals have any sane place around alcohol. With the Summer Nights occasionally becoming a little cooler, you could opted to wear a black shall, or lace shall with this as well. I also had my hair down and curly, as a lot of wedding guests have their hair up during the day, and went for soft subtle makeup.
I really hope that Chi Chi London make even more dresses plus size because the quality, execution of sizing, and prices are truly amazing. I’ve only just noticed that for the plus size version of this dress, the zipper was replaced with stylish elastic across the entire back, I have to say that this is the first time I’ve seen a brand actually alter the design of the dress to suit plus size women. Why can’t more brands be like this? Absolute perfection. £43.99 for this dress is incredibly reasonable with the built in petticoat, material and overall elegance of the dress. I shall be playing dress up in this dress and I’ll now jump at the chance to go to any weddings!
Be sure to check out Chi Chi London as this is definitely a brand that every girl needs in her wardrobe.
