After making a overly pricey Birthday Wishlist, I decided to ask my mum if I could just go a little crazy at Boots and Superdrug whilst they had their 3 for 2 offer on. Shockingly my mum agreed and yet more makeup was bought. Previous to this, I had already snuck in a cheeky MUA order for my birthday also. This included the new smoky eye palette and the new matte palette. Both of which have become my new favourites.
During 3 for 2 I decided to stock up on a few things as well as try out some others. I bought a new paddle brush as my big, bushy hair needs a good brush and currently I’m fighting over custody of my old one with my brother. This is Superdrug’s own brand and is just as good quality as my Tresemme one. Superdrug’s own brand rollers are also going to be tested out as I found my vintage curls lasted a lot longer than my normal ones.
False nails are a real treat and I rarely get the chance to wear them, but when I do they always end up being painted black. I thought I would cut out the middle step and just buy black nails. Elegant Touch black nails are fantastic. They come with sticky strips so if you just wanted them on for a dinner date, they can come off for when you get home. However, I wanted mine on for a couple days so I bought some separate glue.
FAT hair has also made its way into my bathroom and I’m surprisingly impressed, teamed with Lush’s BIG, my hair is more voluminous than usual. Finally, I thought I would treat myself to a new ‘going out’ bag, this one folds over to close but that means there’s double the storage space. I tend to take out quite a few things with me as you never know what you’ll need, so this bag is perfect and it was from Internacionale.
After consulting other beauty bloggers on Twitter I tried out Revlon’s Colour Stay and absolutely loved it, therefore I had to buy another. I also decided to try Rimmel’s Perfect Match but I found the consistency far too light for my skin, so I gave that one away. GOSH’s foundation primer was also bought as I wanted a cheaper alternative to Smashbox for work and it’s amazing. A little heavier than smashbox means my skin feels more moisturised yet my makeup stays on pretty well. Smashbox was also purchased as I’m coming to the end of my trial one and I can’t bear to be without it. As always, Max Factor mascaras have been fully stocked to keep my eyelashes happy. Another new brand I’m trying is Sleek, their priming eyeshadows have a good reputation so I decided they were a good place to start. However, I find that they’re making my eyeshadow crease throughout the day, maybe I’m applying too much? Only time will tell!
