Bd Trade Secrets – Beauty at Tesco

When trying out a new brand for the first time, I am rather critical as I want them to exceed all my expectations, realistic or not. You can imagine how blown away I was to find myself not reaching for my Mac Studio Fix Foundation anymore and instead wearing, what I think is, a dupe of it. BD Trade Secrets Vital Long Wear Foundation has been a product that I cannot stop raving about and with good reason. It’s so similar to Studio Fix but literally half the price at only £9.99, it is a tad dewier but during these cold, winter days, that has only been a good thing. It stays on for what seems hours on end perfectly and has a SPF 20 so you’re always protected from the sun’s rays.
I wear Natural Skin 2 which is very similar to NC15, however I imagine Porcelain will be more true to my colour and NW10 in Studio Fix (for those who don’t understand that, they’re the two lightest shades). The consistency is basically the same to Studio Fix, medium but easily built up and the wear is simply incredibly. For years I have always got back to MAC but now, after finding BD Secrets at half the price, I am a complete convert

Unfortunately, of the four products I sent, three were absolutely amazing and one didn’t float my boat at all. The Bd Trade Secrets Eyeliner Pencil in Charcoal Smoke (£2.99) just wasn’t intense or pigmented enough for my liking, but it still made a pretty good smokey eye as it’s incredibly easy to blend whilst staying in place for hours. If it was just a tad stronger with the pigment I would have loved it.

Bd Trade Secrets Velvet Cream Lipstick in Stylish (£5.99) unfortunately didn’t come across too well on camera, however, it’s a gorgeous mocha pink colour that is incredibly moisturising. Obviously with the more velvety lipsticks, they don’t always stay in place too well, but this one fades off wonderfully so you’re not left with a strange looking makeup disaster.

Another new favourite definitely has to Bd Trade Secrets Pure Matte Lip Melts – Independent (£5.99). You only need one look at my Instagram to realise that this deep red/purple is the colour that I always have on as it suits my complexion and hair colour perfectly. It’s not as matte as I would usually like, but it’s an amazing product to carry around and quickly top up with throughout the day.
Overall, I have really loved Bd Secrets and right now it is all 3 for 2 at Beauty at Tesco! Definitely the time to grab a bargain or two.

  • I would never normally look twice at Tesco for make-up, I’m too entrenched in my Clarins, MAC, Bobbi Brown and YSL … maybe I should take some advice and try it, after all, every £ saved is another £ towards some new lingerie (cause my wardrobe isn’t full of it already).

  • I’m impressed with the BD range also, some really nice products here. I found the foundation a little too oily for me, but the formulation was rather nice! The Face Lift product is nice to add glow to the face. I tried a really good lipstick in Couture, really shows up well on olive skin as a pretty pink shade! Worth checking out the beauty counter at Tescos for sure! http://shehearts.net/bd-trade-secrets/
