I’ve been struggling a lot lately, not so much with work or She Might Be Magazine, because both of them are thankfully on fire, but with how I present myself. Or rather, how I haven’t been this well dressed/pressed all month. It’s been a slow start to the year for me, I seem to be having constant chronic pain flare ups, but I’m hoping this incredibly bright and bold outfit might make up for it. I mean I look like a walking happy rainbow, but I’m really feeling it. Plus with the amount of compliments I got at The Blog Squad event (where I did a talk on Working With Brands) it turns out bright is quite the hit! As soon as this Curves Yellow Floral Print Kimono went live onto the Newlook site I was all over it. I knew I would want a more fitted look, as I never…

After taking a very long break from events, seeing the word ‘Disney’ in my inbox was enough to make me want to travel again! ORGANIC invited my mum and I to a cooking event to celebrate the release of Disney’s Moana on DVD & Bluray. I had already seen and completely fallen in love with everything about Moana, but my mum is a little behind on the latest Disney films so I couldn’t resist buying it on Amazon for her to watch before the event. It’s safe to say she’s now a huge fan too, and after some recent dizzy spells, my mum hilariously announced that she relates to HeiHei, the chicken, a lot. You really have to know the film to get that reference, and then picture my mum making the chicken ‘head movement’ in an uber on the way to the event. She’s too funny! We headed to Island Poké…

After getting onto the Rimmel London press list, I seem to have acquired every new launch in the past couple months. Rimmel isn’t really a brand that I tend to buy, I don’t even think I owned anything before these and after trying all the new launches out, it’s not really a brand I’m going to continue using either. I could have been a little less blunt, but I just really don’t rate the brand or any one of the new launches and here’s why. The Only 1 Matte Lipsticks – £6.99 These are described as ‘major matte’ but they’re actually anything but. It’s a super fragranced formula that applies very glossy and a little patchy meaning you need a good couple layers to ensure your lips are all one colour. It is indeed non drying, but they’re definitely not a revolutionary matte. The only time I’ve ever reached for…

There was a time where I didn’t even know about Tweezerman. I was just using any old tweezers from a shop that looked half decent. I didn’t realise there were tweezers that would make life quicker and easier, I was ignorant. Then I started to work with Tweezerman and receive their new collections, and now I’m a massive fan. Just in one pot I have 7 pairs of Tweezerman tweezers, lots have been stolen by my mum, some have probably been lost or left in another room for convenience. Tweezerman have the normal style of flat edge tweezers, as well as a pointed precision tweezer (these are actually my favourites for putting lashes on) and they really are fantastic, streamline, thin tip, and amazing at plucking hairs with precision. We are indeed a house of Tweezerman tweezers but something arrived a couple weeks ago that has changed the game completely.…

Is it sad to be excited over reviewing an IPL Hair Removal Machine? Even if it is I really don’t mind as I’ve honestly wanted to try laser hair removal for absolutely YEARS now. As I don’t drive and I can’t do public transport thanks to chronic pain, it means that having weekly treatments at a salon would be incredibly costly with the treatment and added transport on top of that. I don’t even want to think how much it would have ended up costing me, which is why I’ve been thinking about a machine that I can use at home for years. But as you probably know, they’re incredibly expensive machines. So over the next few months, I’m going to be giving myself weekly treatments with the Panasonic ES-WH90, even my mum will be trying it out and probably Alfie too (as he hates being left out!) and we’ll…
